For the first Edit of the label, @oltrefuturo edits DMX Krew´s single "The Wiggly Worm" from the 2018 EP of the same name and released via Super Rythm Trax.


For this Edit, Oltrefuturo kept the original groove while slowing it down and doing what he loves doing for his own craft: a Trance A Lento sub 100bpm, subjugating the bass and vocals curling up nicely with the subtle percussive elements.  The listener is brought straight into a cosmic realm that could be either pictured as a monk ceremony in a temple in the Himalaya or a transcendental dance of the incas on top of the Machu Piccu.

Nikita von Tiraspol the enigmatic DJ, producer and visionary behind Kontrapunkt has formed a distinct sonic identity from the heart of Leipzig, Cologne and Vilnius’s underground. For years, Nikita shaped his ear as a vinyl pressing engineer at r.a.n.d. muzik, a position that immersed him daily in the cutting edge of unreleased music. This job lead to a deeper passion and in 2017 Kontrapunkt was born - a label defying boundaries, weaving through a spectrum of genres from the industrial cadence of techno to the freewheeling spirit of house, tribal rhythms, trance and ambient and breakbeat.

Nikita's own productions reflect this restless exploration, a journey through sound. His discography includes the deeply introspective album Entscheidungen via mystictrax, the evocative album Iki Pasimatymo! released with Noorden, a trippy 3step dance floor remix for MARIA Die RUHE, Ibiza-Mykonos-Carribean made-for beach vibe track Daddy I Want To Go To Bali and a club version of Peperu with Ugandan singer Amah Dripper. Landing with an almighty bass bin rumbling on Sprechen is another northern musical disciple from around our way. Kiaki has been a regular visitor to many a Sprechen and Sticky Heat social and defo knows his onions when it comes to rocking the discotheques. With previous releases on Me Me Me and the likes of Erol Alkan giving hi props its with a mega vibe that we welcome him to the label!

Northern Solar is a straight up, lost in the sweat & smoke kind of club track. Hypnotic and hooky with its relentless pulsating low end thud & rumbles accompanied by synth stabs and squelches a like. One for the mutant acid militia…

The 2nd helping comes in the form of ‘And Then Some’. Slower paced and stripped back allowing for a more infectious groove to take over. But still packing bags of electronic drama. Perfect ‘transition track’ for when you need to flip things up a notch (or 2). Kind of peaky but not too much, what we like to call at Sprechen as a ‘subtle banger’.

"One night I was sleeping and had a really vivid dream about an old warehouse rave. I felt so content and fulfilled in the dream, but suddenly I woke up. I felt sadness-I didn't want the dream to end. I immediately started working on this track. For me it embodies the feeling of nostalgia for a time that never even existed. In our dreams we can be anything, and be anywhere, but we always have to return to reality. 
This track will be self released with two other ones that I made over the past half year. The EP is emotional, melancholic, and contemplative."

The duo Jolie Gentiane come to us straight from a wild and unpredictable mountain peak, a perched place far from civilization, where the beauty and cruelty of mother nature reign but harmonize the elements.

They walk the high, steep paths, looking down on the chaotic and industrial world. This increasingly smoky world, which, from the top of the mountains, looks metamorphosing dangeroulsy, but would only need a few changes to make it less crazy. Or perhaps infinitely more so.

Jolie Gentiane is a skilful concoction of sound and daring. Unclassifiable, impalpable, the contemporary embracing the tradition and the acoustic swinging with the electronics. Autotuned/vocoderized vocals, 4th world, kitsch sax, psychedelic arpeggios, acoustic guitar, techno, it's all there: the story told by Jolie Gentiane on this album is rich and complete. Nature, love, celebration, struggle, work. Yes, even work.

Because the energy deployed to create this album was surreal, patient, extremely methodical, and the abnegation of the protagonists has been vertiginous: the cliff of the highest peak is finally climbed.

This album is like an ode to the earth, to the respect we owe it, an ode also to music in its purest essence, that which does not confine itself to borders, but shout for federation, dance and uprising.
