The ‘Dream Culture’ EP was composed over various lockdowns resulting in four cuts rich in energy and dreaming of a return to the dance.

Hypnotic top line melodies, lucid vocals, chest-thumping basslines and euphoric pianos are the order of the day; Joe invites you to let your mind free and take a hedonistic trip with these four dance floor ready, expertly crafted tracks.

Curating a distinct dreamy Balearic house style over the years, the ‘Dream Culture EP’ evokes this mantra but with some added dance-floor intent that was always going to fit the Sox mold. And so it proves.

A digital release only due to an almighty struggle at vinyl pressing plants recently and rising costs - it's only right this number gets a full on 2SOX00... catalogue number!

It had been a long time coming, the shackles were loosened and the people danced and rejoiced in the streets as if they'd never seen the daylight before.

That night they would gather to celebrate and sing songs from a time long ago, long before all of this. The hardships and the struggles of the recent age would be banished beyond the horizon for at least one night only before the fallout fell down.

This was freedom day, it would go down in history as such forevermore.

Chiwax release a new EP from Re:percussion, a Melbourne duo made up of Mitchell Gee and Jackson Gray who channel elements of classic House and Italo into a wonderful EP which will sound excellent on the beach this summer.

This is what dance music is and should be all about.

Norway-based duo LAFT serve up ‘New Objectivity’, a thrilling album of live house music with a signature Scandi-twist on the excellent badabing diskos label.
World-renowned percussionist and formally trained jazz master Tomas Järmyr (from groups like Motorpsycho, Årabrot and Pantha Du Prince's The Bell Laboratory) and acoustic rave engineer Håkon Vinnogg (aka label founder Vinny Villbass) are LAFT. Together they seek to explore functional dance floor communication built around unique improvisations. Their structural and compelling sound is carefully composed and expertly performed with real musicianship and thrilling rhythms at its core. Järmyr brings a decade+ of live music experience having played all over the world and featured on more than 50 records while Vinnogg is known for his exceptional groove and timing as a result of 25 years behind the decks and releases on Trunkfunk, Beatservice and Eskimo Recordings.
The mystic sounds of 'Spruce' open up as a playful and suggestive house rhythm is overlaid with gorgeous percussive sounds and impish synth spirits that dart amongst the beats. 'Elm' then lays down a rolling, dubby groove full of reverb and bubbling synths that sink you in deep. The album plays out with the narrative of a DJ set as 'Ash' ups the ante with hints of the party to come. The shuffling drums are warmed through with diffuse chords and cosmic patterns that erupt into jazzy and dancing keys. There is a hint of old school but through a modern disco-house lens on the brilliant 'Birch' with its lively drums and persuasive leads, then 'Maple' is as syrupy as the title suggests thanks to slower tempos and rich, sticky bass synths.
The luxurious, melody-rich sounds continue with 'Oak' - a roomy cut with a frazzled bassline that allows you to stare in wonder at the eco-system of colourful sounds all around you. 'Willow' offers a trippy vibe with its creepy chords and drippy leads while 'Hazel' layers up house drums with conversational synths, pixelated keys and delightful cosmic energy. The whole wonderful journey comes to a close with 'Pine', a future classic house cut with meticulous melodies by multi instrumentalist Arcoe on keys.
‘New Objectivity’ is packed with richly arranged house music that brims with vibrant and life-affirming melodies.

“Run it Back” is a simple and dry tune, has those big cutting edge sounds typical of the early 2000 80's contaminated electro.. perfect for your starting set or in recreating that unique atmosphere.
On the A side follows “Half Way Trough”, an effortlessly driving tech-acid house tune, strangely compelling, with a timeless feeling.. looking like an essential weapon for any dancefloor.
B side starts with the spicy electro-disco tune “Over The Machines” epic and functional at the same time with evocative arpeggios and a mechanical vocodered speach.
The Ep ends with the cyberfunk stomper "Revolution" , a twisted electro funk groover in typical Minimono vein.
Fabio Della Torre and Ennio Colaci celebrate this 50th.5 release on Bosconi in great style, remodernising the sound that they used to like when they first met in the early 2000, under the influence of those Berlin labels like Areal, Sender, Festplatten, Funkhaus, Beautycase, Lasergun, Gigolo.. and all of those labels who trademarked the sound of those unforgettable Berlin days.

The bubbles were hypnotic and mesmerising as they flew through the air towards the ocean. They drifted atop the breeze out to sea before popping and becoming one with the air around them. 

This place was some kind of magic, sun kissed and decadent. He strolled alongside the pool, gazing out at the mythical view which lay before him. It was hard to believe that this time last week he was at home, lost in the midst of the city. 

Out here there were better things. Love, sun, dub and an energy which would keep him fulfilled for a lifetime if only he could. 

As the sun began to set in the distance he took in a deep breath, bracing himself for the night to come...

Belgian producer, DJ and FCL member Red D has announced a new remix EP dubbed ‘Re-Fantasized & Realized’ featuring tracks from his 2022 album. He has invited a stellar cast of friends and producers to remix his work including the likes of Charles Webster, Kai Alice and Far Out Radio Systems. 

It is however the San Soda remix which we bring to you today, a wonderful deep cut set to cause mischief on the dancefloor.

Cyphon is proud to bring you brand new music from one of Europe’s pioneers of techno and IDM, Stefan Robbers aka Terrace and Florence. His early releases for Djax-Up-Beats and his own Eevo Lute Muzique in the early 90’s were hugely influential striking a sweet spot between stark minimalism, majestic analogue lushness and dance floor grooves. In more recent years his own reinterpretation of the Detroit sound can be found on the highly regarded Dutch label Delsin. 
 
Here on his ‘Thermionic EP’ Terrace sings out with such intensity that minds are blown. Listen to the brutal, exhilarating sequences of ‘Territorial’ which leads the new EP, and you will receive that message loud and clear. While the music is as much about the consequence of soulful depth, it is also about edgy machines communicating intimately. Delving into a more insightful breakdown of the artist’s genius process you can also hear how sweet chords fuse and then contrast with grainy Acidic sonics, leaving the tempo poised at an irresistible pace like all our futures depended on it. Complex yet not overly complicated there is an emotional directness pitched between the artist and audience that typifies all exceptional music. 
 
As you move next onto the more subtle electro pulse of ‘Thermon’, shimmering keys dance around a frame by frame remembrance of robotic disco in the 23rd century. Again, each layer sizzles with the spark of electricity energising the atmospheres while continuously constructing worlds of dangerous discourse, fuelled only by the white-hot energy of the discotheque. The uplifting brilliance of ‘Woodward’ follows filling the void with an explosion of colour that is all about life-affirming instrumentation, hitting you fast and loose with a cascade of arpeggios, tough drums plus an incendiary surge of melodic distraction causing the airwaves to crackle with celebration. Completing this stunning release from Terrace are the fierce, hotwired grooves forged by ‘Ritual’, conjuring up endless combinations of an analogue model rediscovered. The sheer dancefloor animation found within each of Terrace’s productions on this EP purposefully point to and enhance Cyphon Recordings own mission to explore, propelling the emphasis forever forwards.

The Stallions compilations have become a benchmark of Bosconi’s position as one of the leading house and techno labels operating out of Italy. This third instalment marks a shift in sound which also comes full circle to the music that first inspired founder Fabio Della Torre as a DJ and producer around the turn of the millennium, when punchy electro production was driving European house and techno into new zones.
All the artists featured on Vol. III are Italian, holding true to Bosconi’s commitment to supporting local talent from Florence and across the country. Amongst the familiar faces is Della Torre’s own Minimono collaboration with Ennio Colaci, which indulges a proudly manic palette of tweaked bleeps and dirty low-end. Elsewhere, recent additions to the Bosconi fold include veritable legends Alexander Robotnick and Marco Passarani, who infuse their unpredictable approaches to electro-techno and italo disco with ear-snagging synth- pop and driving analogue box jams respectively to create vibrant, impassioned dancefloor monsters.
The Mechanical Man is an alias from Nicola Altieri, who leans in on a classic Italo arpeggio to create a seductive club sound which builds on his recent Bosconi EXV EP, while Cixxx J switches from the mood of his own Bosconi appearance for a new alias Queen Of Coins and a pivot towards heads-down electro-techno-trance with a whiff of International Deejay Gigolos. Lapucci builds on the promise of his 2021 Bosconi 12” with a sentimental fusion track which lands somewhere between old school Italo house, the snappy pulse of EBM and crisp 00s-era electro house. Meanwhile modern day Italian techno legend Lucretio of The Analogue Cops makes his first appearance on Bosconi with the playful video game stylings of ‘Gradius’.
A great deal of space on Vol. III is given over to emergent talent, ranging from Miguel Herrnandez’s twitchy detroitian synth-pop braindance and Twovi’s vocoder-charged electro funk to DJ Rou’s jacking ghetto house flavour. Giammarco Orsini and Jacopo Latini appear as Data Memory Access and deliver an emotive, punchy strain of machine soul. Feel Fly rounds the compilation off in bombastic style with an epic, cinematic workout which draws on Moroder-inspired drama without losing the forthright peak-time focus which binds the whole collection together.
Even the artwork on Vol. III serves as an opportunity to celebrate Italian creativity, as pioneering crypto artist Niro Perrone builds on his accomplished work in the field of NFTs and a background in music production to respond intuitively to the vibrant, synthetic sound of the compilation. For all the futurism in the music though, there remains a strong sense of human feeling which has marked Bosconi out since the beginning. The label remains as inspired and inspiring as ever, celebrating the fertile crossover when people manipulate technology to express themselves in an honest, playful way. Independent of wider trends or fashions, Bosconi remains true to its own idiosyncratic passions, and so Bosconi Stallions Vol. III stands proud as a compilation like no other.
