Thomas Ross Fitzsimons, long revered for sculpting emotional landscapes in film scores, now charts a collision course with the void on his brand-new endeavour: “The Planets Vol. 1.” The British-Australian maverick jettisons orchestral tradition entirely, embracing modular synthesis as his spacecraft. Guided by early astrologer Alan Leo’s cosmic archetypes – the same celestial blueprints that ignited Holst’s Planets suite a century prior – Fitzsimons transmutes starlight into voltage. Forget strings and brass; here, patch cables become constellations, oscillators pulse like neutron stars, and every knob twist charts a course through uncharted nebulas. This is celestial cartography for the ear, mapping planetary energies not as melodies, but as raw, living currents of electricity and instinct.

The EP is an intentional leap into the unknown – a deliberate shedding of cinematic formality for the wild frontiers of analog chaos. Fitzsimons cites pioneers like Reznor, Ross, and Sakamoto as his navigational stars, guiding him toward sound as process, not perfection. “The Planets Vol. 1” thrives on unpredictability: feedback loops mimic orbital decay, random voltage fluctuations become solar winds, and the very instability of the modular system embodies the universe’s beautiful indifference. It’s less a recorded album, more a captured event – a sonic supernova frozen mid-eruption. 

Nowhere is this cosmic ferocity more visceral than in “Mars.” Leo defined the Red Planet as pure "energy, strength, and motion" – Fitzsimons weaponizes that definition. The track detonates like a coronal mass ejection: a relentless, war-drum pulse hammers beneath a tectonic tide of sub-bass, shaking your bones like gravitational waves. Synth layers grind and shear like colliding asteroid fields, while noise-laced swells surge with the terrifying pressure of a collapsing star. There’s no melody to cling to, only raw kinetic force – the brutal physics of celestial bodies accelerating toward impact. It’s the sound of creation’s forge: primal, unchained, and violently beautiful. “Mars” doesn’t play; it reigns, proving Fitzsimons hasn’t just made music – he’s channelled the furious heartbeat of the cosmos itself.

Balearic sounds and Mediterranean warmth are the inspirations for Bruno Belissimo’s Bordello A Parigi debut. Drawing on disco, house and funk, Ottimo! is a four tracker of electronic exuberance with Belissimo’s musical ability and range immediately spilling from the speakers. Guitar strings curve around synthlines in the title piece, percussive textures giving way to the mantra-like refrain of “Ottimo!” Thick bass echoes into beaming keys for “Meduse.” Bright notes cascade, grooves melting with vocoder lyrics as classic disco tones are reimagined in this modern mirrorball medley. Organic rhythms introduce the flip. “Mirage” opens to ripples of bongos and toms as a loose structure takes hold. Hedonistic chants rise to a shimmering chord, kicks and snares funnelling the building energy as bold blasts and samples shriek with delight. “Las Piramides De Ibiza” brings the quartet to a close. Clean drum patterns support joyous notes, a machine dipped voice calling time.

As we have always said at Sprechen, one of the best things about running a label is being able to work with people that have played a significant role in soundtracking your journey through music. It’s with this latest release that we can tick that box again and welcome Jon Pleased Wimmin to the label for a stomping collaboration with Bristol based self-confessed ‘House Music Fanatic’, Dave K.

Higher is the result of these 2 musical minds getting together in the studio and is a no holds barred, peak time pumper that thunders out of the traps and cranks the endorphin machine up to 11. With nods to Fantazia rave tapes of your youth and dashes of secret hidden parties in Ibiza, this has all that and more.

Both chaps deliver their own remixes with Dave K dropping a darker Italo take that is full of ample pumping elements with a suitable roof raising piano breakdown, a biggie!
Jon Pleased Wimmin takes things more subterranean and cranks the tempo to full force tops off territory on his ‘Poppers’ mix which does indeed hit you like a blast of amyl nitrate!

With his track “Time Is Not Real,” Dutch producer Doctr resurrects the break fever of the 1980s. Driven by syncopated beats and an irresistible slapped bassline, the track clearly draws inspiration from “Street Dance,” while injecting a modern dynamic and a vocal by Belle Doron. 

Percussive breaks, subtle vocoders, and an uptempo groove give the piece an energy crafted for the dancefloor. A retro-futuristic gem that belongs on every nu-funk and electro-boogie playlist.
With "Echoes," Doctr delivers a delicate Italo disco ballad. The catchy, melodic, and luminous leads rise like memories that refuse to fade away. In the background, airy pads weave a sensitive, almost cinematic atmosphere. The refined and nuanced production plays on contrasts between danceable pulse and introspection. A track that touches both the heart and the body, standing at the crossroads of the club and pure emotion.

To close the release, “The Calling” is an irresistible groove set to ignite dancefloors. At the heart of the track, a powerful and hypnotic 30-second percussive break grabs attention before giving way to a perfectly crafted Italo disco melody. This contrast between raw rhythmic energy and melodic finesse makes the track an essential club anthem, embodying the perfect fusion of power and sonic elegance.

“Adrenaline” is the latest single from Muscle Memory, whose past releases have traced a line between Post‑Punk, Italo disco and dark, dubby dance music. Out via Infinite Beat on the 12th of September 2025, this four‑track release takes the despair and anger of a difficult period and alchemises it into joy for the dancefloor. The lyric narrates a shift from frustration and powerlessness to catharsis, framed not as escapism but as a celebration of music's power, love and community.
Musically, the original mix opens with a slinky, synth‑driven groove reminiscent of Linear Movement’s Way Out Of Living and the shimmering textures Patrick Cowley crafted for Sylvester’s I Need Somebody To Love Tonight, before dropping into a deeper, dub‑tinged section where guitars, drum machines and keyboards build tension. As with previous singles, Muscle Memory revisit the song with a firm view on the dance floor: with that in mind their Club Mix employs a dusty Roland 303 and woozy dream‑house chords to extend the track into a hypnotic builder.
Adding to the record is an Eli Escobar's remix. "When he said he would make a remix for Adrenaline we were thrilled, he’s one of our favourite DJ’s in NYC, and with his wide-ranging sets and near-constant playing schedule, it’s a wonder he could make time to help open one of the best new clubs in Brooklyn, Gabriela, where we often go see him at his weekly night. His broad musical knowledge and impeccable taste keeps us checking in to see what he’s playing, and when he sent us his remix he joked, “hope you like trance lol”; we replied “yes please, entrance us,” and he certainly did." His remix sits alongside the original, offering a soaring, uplifting take that nods to his reputation as one of NYC’s most versatile DJs.
