Hailing from the UK and now residing in Berlin Radondo has built a versatile sound within the Italian Dance Wave movement. His progressive DJ sets have seen him quickly become a prevalent artist within the German capital, playing regular slots at venues such as Renate, Sisyphos and becoming a resident at the revered Slow Motion Records parties. With a steady run of releases on labels such as Wrong Era, Loose Fit Records, Ritmo Fatale and Fucanglong Files, he merges arcane soundscapes with ethereal analogue synth lines. 

As a producer and remixer, he has gained recognition for his captivating consistency and support from Italo’s greats. Tying together his Italo, EBM, and New Beat influences, Radondo creates a tantalising atmosphere filled with tangible nostalgia through forward-thinking production and energetic selections that have lit up dance floors from Vilnius to New York.

It was a joy to play the warm up set at Optimo's New Year's Day party in The Berkeley Suite earlier this month. The night started at 8pm (until 4am...so a long night) and the room took a while to get busy so I felt it was completely acceptable to veer into the stranger atmospheric territories of my record collection. By half an hour or so in, people had started arriving and dancing so things pick up around halfway through but I still keep the tempo down for a leisurely build. Materia Prima - Muchacho

The next release from Melomana Records, reference number 41, brings us a long-awaited EP titled "Equinox" from established Lithuanian producer John Patter. This new work reaffirms his dominance in the label and his continued evolution in the contemporary electronic scene. Composed of four songs, "Equinox", "Isolation", "Easter" and a remix of "Easter" by Wolg, this EP promises to be a gem for the most demanding club music lovers.

From the first track, "Equinox", Patter immerses us in a deep and vibrant sonic journey. The forceful and aggressive percussions are the pillar of this cut, modulated with grotesque and psychedelic samplers that seem to emerge from the abyssal depths. It is an auditory experience that few manage to explore with such intensity and mastery, and that envelops us in a dark and enveloping environment.

"Isolation" follows the same vein, but adds an extra layer of complexity. The percussion here feels like the feverish gallop of a horse in the middle of the
night, propelling us into a frenetic and captivating sonic journey. Rhythmic elements are intertwined with textures and sounds that evoke a sense of isolation and reflection, living up to its title.

"Easter", meanwhile, offers a different perspective within the same soundscape. Although it maintains the characteristic rhythmic power of Patter, it introduces lighter and brighter melodies that contrast with the previous songs. It is a piece that perfectly balances aggressiveness and luminosity, creating an almost ritualistic atmosphere.

Wolg's remix of "Easter" closes the EP with a flourish. Wolg takes up the main elements of the original song and adds his personal touch, intensifying the more psychedelic and experimental aspects. The result is a hypnotic, explosive reinterpretation that feels both familiar and innovative.

On "Equinox", John Patter not only gives us his infallible formula for the dance floor, but also consolidates his thunderous and powerful sound. He manages to mix the best of the spirit of the 90s with contemporary European influences, creating an avant-garde and magnetic work. This EP is destined to become a smash in the best clubs and festivals, making it clear that the bar for future Melomana Records references remains high.

In short, "Equinox" is a masterful demonstration of John Patter's talent and a statement of intent for what is to come. Without a doubt, an essential addition for any electronic music lover.

Renowned electronic music producer Kelpe has crafted a dynamic new remix of Noema’s album ‘ONE’, delivering an uplifting electronica jam infused with cut-up instruments, woozy electronics, and funky beats. With 10 albums and numerous EPs under his belt, Kelpe has earned international acclaim for his innovative approach to sound design, praised by leading music journalists and supported by a dedicated fan base across Europe. His work spans a range of electronic genres, always pushing creative boundaries.
David Benjamin (Noema, Magic Jams) is a DJ, producer, guitarist, and label head from Berlin.
He has released and worked with Apparat, Dj Dixon, and Basement Jaxx as well as underground heroes Lauer, Kalabrese, Shubostar, O/Y, Acid Pauli, Auntie Flo, Dreems, Khidja, Panthera Krause and Mehmet Aslan.
In over 25 years of DJing, he has mastered the ones and twos refining his craft during his 10-year residency at Berlin institution Wilde Renate. While Noema focuses on contemporary electronica and leans towards the psychedelic, Magic Jams has a more acoustic sound inspired by dusty crate digging, the African diaspora, cosmic disco, and Balearic beats.
David also runs the Magic Movement label and has released music by artists Nicola Cruz, Axel Boman, Dengue Dengue Dengue, Xique-Xique, and Eddie C.
Kelpe’s remix breathes new life into Noema’s original vision and will be available on all major platforms soon.
