The sun flooded through the open curtains, waking him prematurely. She wasn't there again, had already left for some other important commitment or unexplainable appointment. If pressed, he struggled to define their relationship; he'd put too much time into deciphering it that now he preferred to accept it for what it was. Not that he was any closer to understanding that either...

Almost a year ago Moisk, a duo made up of Pletnev aka Ponty Mython and Fourmï Rouz, released their debut foray on Dutch label I Lost My Poncho In Istanbul. Now they’re returning for another excursion, this time inviting you to take a ride on the Pleasure Express, a fresh new imprint springing up from Belgium. Titled 'Melancholic Raver', the EP once again showcases the pair's love of hypnotic rhythms and breakbeat patterns, matching these with acid lines and otherworldly atmospheres.

UK duo Yard One returns to Philipp Priebe’s Stólar this December, with a new EP full of tracks oscillating between Yard One and their Tryst alter ego, featuring Korean vocals from Vovian and Red Pig Flower and remixes from Alex Albrecht and Eli Verveine.
The ‘San-lim Yok’ EP was composed throughout the past year utilising field recordings taken through South Korean’s Busan and Seoul and came to life through a meeting of friends Yard One, Red Pig Flower and Vovian, playing on the same line up at Busan’s Output Club. After the summer of 2023 in South Korea, Yard One returned home to slowly sculpt the project into what you’re hearing today and during this process once again piqued the
interest of Stólar’s Philipp Priebe, the label naturally felt like a perfect home following Yard One’s ‘Shifting Sands’ on the imprint back in 2022.
Opener ‘Output, Until The Sun Rises…’ is a dedication to the beginning of this project, a dark and dubby journey fuelled by saturated drums, hazy atmospherics and Vovian’s hypnotic vocals. ‘Forest Bathing In Busan (San-lim Yok)’ follows next under the Tryst more ambient leaning alias, once again featuring Vovian’s mesmeric voice amongst snaking subs,
unfurling textures and organic percussion. Next up Yard One joins forces with Red Pig Flower for the deep techno tinged ‘Sky Capsule’, a subtly nuanced journey through breathy vocals from Red and intricately intertwined synth work.
‘Haeundae Beach (The End Of The Line)’ then sees Tryst and Vovian dive deeper into swirling pads, bubbling tones and meditative vocals before ‘Gwangan Night Drive’ offers up broken drums, heavy doses of sub and glistening atmospherics. Australia’s Alex Albrecht of Albrecht La’Brooy then adds his unique twist to ‘Forest Bathing In Busan’ before Eli Veveine concludes the release with her dynamic dance floor focused twist on
‘Haeundae Beach (The End Of The Line)’, fragmenting the original’s ambient aesthetic into a twisted peak time groove.

The tracks for this release were recorded at a Friends loft at 7 Bond Street in Manhattan/New York City right above Celeb hairstylist April Barton’s Suite 303 & Eyewear designer Selima Optique.
 
This Loft on Bond Street has been a creative hangout since the 1980’s. Many Artist, Musicians & Film Makers from the likes of Keith Haring, Madonna, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Larry Clark, Bret Easton Ellis, Russell Simmons, De La Soul, & the Beastie Boys gathered and created in this Loft.
 
In the earliest days Composer Steven Bray produced Madonna's 'Get into the Groove' in the Loft when our friend (let’s call him DVD) let Steve secretly move in all his midi studio gear so he could compose a Dance hit alone and undistracted all while under the pressure of a serious deadline. 

The Loft on Bond is right up the street from where David Mancuso’s Legendary Loft had been. This was also the same location our friend DVD opened up one of the first & best video rental stores in New York called Time Shift Video back in 1983.
 
Time Shift Video was located on 659 Broadway & Bond Street in NoHo (short for North of Houston Street) in Manhattan. It was buzzing every night around 6pm, you just had to hang out there to meet and talk to people like Painter #KennySharf, conceptual artist #JosephKosuth, filmmaker #AmosPoe, Director #JonathanDemme, stylist #Maripol, Make-up artist #HelenQuitery, actor #VincentGallo, photographer #MikeRock or Randy from the #VillagePeople and countless others, they all went there to rent & return VHS video tapes every evening including Keith Haring who was member and redesigned the new logo for the store in 1987. 

The owner of Time Shift Video (DVD) was my first connection into the booming downtown cultural art scene in June of 1984, i had just arrived the month before in NYC from Switzerland, i couldn't speak a word of english but i showed him a list of cult movies that i wanted to see and he was surprised to see some kid with an obscure taste in movies and said, "that's a very strange list!" he invite me to shop's basement studio where he had a VHS editing suite and a few backdrops, lights and video cameras they used to record their weekly manhattan cable TV show with is friends called "Time Shift's Cable TV Show" (Channel D - Monday at 5.30pm and Fridays at 1:00am). My job was to do set designs and help around the studio and learn english! plus i got to use the video editing equipment for free during off hours and edit all my favourite movie scene together like a mood board, which helped me a few years later to become an art director for TV commercials and music videos.

The Bond Street Sessions represent the synergy & consequence of NYC’s creative class and we wanted to capture that. Sasa from In Flagranti stayed at the loft in November 2024 and collaborated with current tenant Michael Hamer, recording him playing the few instruments in the loft: A Vintage Mini Moog Model D, Korg Kronos, Ibanez GBR 100 Bass Guitar & a 1970’s Premiere Drum Kit with a beat up Sabian B8 14 inch Rock Hi-hat.

The Bond St. Sessions hearken back to the raw sounds of the DIY New Blank City scene that flourished here in the shadows of CBGB’s & Mancuso’s loft.

The new Ep by Plaster is signed by Gianclaudio H. Moniri and Giuseppe Carlini, after they
decided to reform Plaster as a duo in 2023. The last time they worked together for a full release
was back in 2014. Clessidra can be considered, in fact, a work of renewed forces and energies.
It's concept is based on the Time, it's possibilities, variations and the reverse of itself.
Four are the tracks which fill this intense listening experience, L'ora Di Vetro, the opening track,
shows a vey muscular and minimalistic approach of the sounds, here everything is calibrated and well connected, this can be considered a classic Plaster song. Clessidra, the second track, it's a jump into new territories for the band, also supported by the fantastic voice of Valeria Svizzeri and the introduction of the didgeridoo, played by Giuseppe, as a rhythmic instrument. The approach of this track is quite unique and visionary.
The third track, Sospesi, is based on synthesizers sequences, guitars effects and atmospheric
layers, embellished by Giuseppe's flutes with a twisted and unexpected final.
La Chiave Del Silenzio, the closing track, is a globular layered and distorted piece of music.
Intriguing drones, distant percussions, small rhythmic sounds and a constant power which vibe
from the first beat to the end. Probably the most experimental of the Ep which sees again the
collaboration of Valeria Svizzeri for the vocal parts.
It’s hard to label this Ep with genres or proper styles but Clessidra, give doubtless a higher value to the Plaster’s discography, and it stand out for it’s incredible production.
