Ombra International continues the legacy of inviting artists each from a different country, to share their mutual love for the wave and acid tinged spectrum of dark club music.

Finnish- Berlin -based OBI BLANCHE makes his Ombra INTL Debut with a powerful kraut-punk acid tinged jam channeling his roots in the guitar and fringe electronic scenes as a staple member for years in the Anika band, as well as Thomas Azier.

From Palawan was partly produced in the heart of the Loatian mountains, with samples found during Mura Mura‘s last roadtrip in South East Asia. Back in Lyon, his moog and his guitar we do the rest.“

French Dark Italo-tech prince, BACK FROM THE WAVE conjures an emotional ride for the strobe filled dance floors and Tokyo‘s prolific QUE SAKAMOTO joins forces with his friend NT to bring us a sludged out electro banger. Lyon‘s MURA MURA makes his Ombra debut as well, takes us on a slow and funky hypnotic journey with a song composed in the Loatian Mountains with samples from his last trip in South East Asia. Last but not least, the mysterious Naples-based Dark Wave screamo band bring a 136 bpm post punk infused anthem for the end of days.

This is maybe one of the most diverse releases yet own the label, which makes me absolutely ecstatic to finally share it with you. - Curses

Que Sakamoto & NT - Wakaranai [Ombra International]

Human Endeavour Records announces its third release, ‘Comfort Zone’, from Geneva-based producer Reda Saiarh (@redasa).

Having appeared on the label’s inaugural Various Artists release, ‘Trains Of Thought’, Reda now steps up to the plate for his first solo EP on the imprint, which showcases his fresh, forward-thinking take on Belgian New Beat.

He approaches the traditions of the genre with a completely new twist that weaves elements of progressive trance, jackin’ 90s house and Italo disco into the mix, alongside his trusty bank of signature New Beat samples.

In his own words: “Comfort Zone is my space of creation, no words, only feelings and apprehensions. Each track explains a piece of my environment and experiences.”

Comfort Zone will be released in full on 14/02/23.

Kronikos Pt. 1 was released on Good Skills in summer of 2021 and was well received by weird electronica fans across the globe. Things really kicked off for Karolis after this. It’s time for world to hear the second part of this mysterious debut release, described by author as 'world news show, where each song represents a different story'.
“Atomik Bomb” is a testament of Shkema’s German skills. Title of the track, written and produced in 2018, sounds a little risky considering nowadays geopolitical context, but rules are simple - you can’t take a lyric out of a track. Some serious bass line action here, you must check it out.
“Singapūras” is a tribute to the country Shkema has never been to. Massive flute solo, wonderful percussion section and a dream to go there one day.
Disco Mortale (previously known as Daniel Monaco) delivered an Italian bass slapping boogie version of “Atomik Bomb”. Proper 80s vibe, perfect for a ride in Miami, driving a red Testarossa.
Last but not least in the saga of “Kronikos” is a refix from Mexican duo Theus Mago & Moisees. These guys know what they are doing, this track is perfect for times when dance floor needs some fresh energy.

Tokyo based Yuto Takei's latest work is an assortment of numbers that represents fairly well his versatility as a music maker. His capability of painting afterglow soundscapes with a cinematic approach is counterpoised by an almost obsessive interest in percussive experiments. The sparse presence of subtle natural field recordings together with vast open sonic spaces is recurrently sustained by repetitive semi-artificial and frantic cosmic repetitions. Comes with a riso-printed insert, handstamped innersleeve, and a label sticker.

Et une nouvelle année pour le Foutoir Moderne... On est en cours de saison mais pour pour ce numéro 133 (et 2024) on attaque avec un producteur qui a su se (re)faire un nom en très peu de temps, c'est @Neurotiker ! Marcelo (de son vrai prénom), est un producteur brésilien basé à Rio de Janeiro et qui bien ayant déjà réalisé un EP en 2013 sur le label anglais, Borg recordings, s'est fait (re)connaître récemment avec son fantastique EP "Dream Machine" sur le label toulousain qu'on aime, @ritmofatale. S'en suivit un florilège de productions, singles, remixes et donc notamment "Dystopian Romance" sur @polarirecords (le label de @Cormac) et "Arcadia" sur @nubiansofplutoniarecords, "Art Repeats Itself" sur Weirdos Records  (le label de @malaikamalaika) en 2022 puis "The Showstoppers" sur @revodisc en 2023.

The interesting Barcelona/Berlin-based label MM Discos, expertly managed by Da Silva & DJ Katah also known as the duo Moon&Mann, adds another chapter to its compelling story: “Night Runner”, the brand-new endeavour of the in-house collective Statues, hits the shelves of your favourite retailer before the official end of the European winter packed with five made-with-love beautiful authorial gems.

Hailing from London, Statues is fronted by Bradley Lucke and Mark Crooks and occasionally joined by a wide range of artists for spot-on collaborations. For those not familiar with their work, we recommend a quick stroll through their previous appearances on Claremont 56, eclectics, Is It Balearic…?, and MM Discos itself.

Premiered here, the opening theme of the EP is the result of the combination of bouncing percussive elements, melodic synth riffs, and a throbbing bassline. The enchanting vocals by Mochudi are the icing on the cake. A true cosmic Balearic trip infused with shards of psychedelic and Kraut elements, showcasing the talent of the team in bringing seamlessly together some of their most important influences.

We are CANICA. We come from a system whose star long-ago became extinct. We travel the cosmos atop of comets in search of a new home.

After losing contact with our comrade π∫∂€, hidden in the guise of a human body and operating under the alias ‘Miguel’, we were forced to abort our mission. When we finally found him, he was lying unconscious inside the dumpster of a Spanish beach whose name we do not wish to remember, sprawled amongst deflated pool toys, broken sun umbrellas and a dented paella pan. He showed signs of having undergone extreme psychological distress.

Among his belongings we found a report titled MALDITO VERANO (CURSED SUMMER). In his delirium, it appears he chose to redact it in the form of human musical compositions of extremely bad taste to our auditory receptors. We can only assume that they comprise a sort of coded warning to your species.

To honour our fallen comrade, we have taken the unprecedented decision to enter in direct contact with you with the sole purpose of presenting you with these compositions.

We hope they serve you to avoid his same end.

CANICA are a Spanish synth-pop duo based in London.

Formed in 2021 by producer Javi Fanals and filmmaker Alberto Allica, their futuristic sound funnels the synthetic sonic landscapes ‘La Movida’ scene of 1980s Madrid through a contemporary electronic production style with one remit: get in your head, and stay there.

Intertwining punk-tinted vocals, hypnotic melodies straddling the line between elation and nostalgia, and precise unrelenting beats, MALDITO VERANO is a debut album that looks to the past only to gather speed and launch itself into outer space.
