Born and raised in Indonesia, @omarjoesoef-1 built this EP with samples of old records of ethnic music that he has found in an abandoned radio station on Java island. Named Lokananta, it is one of the first radios setting up in Indonesia in the 50’s. The recordings in Omar’s EP come from rituals and meditative chants of one of the last tribes still living in the ancient way, completely disconnected from the modern world.

Our very own @HaryShanthi serves up his second release on Sinchi with on point remixes from MR TC and Tushen Raï.

His latest release, is an ode to his Indian culture that provides a glimpse into “the non-dualistic nature” of Kashmir Shaivism, a philosophical system that emerged in India around the 12th Century.The fantastic ‘Urumi’ is his reconstruction of his first encounter with a monistic Shaiva saint and the transcendental percussive journey that followed.

Hard Fist co-founder @TushenRaï is a notorious collector who plays everything from Turkish psychedelics to Romanian cold wave and tribal techno. His cross-cultural sounds come to the fore on his Anti War Mix, which is chugging, psyched-out tribal disco for smoky backrooms that like to get weird.

As usual all sales will be donated to the Sinchi Foundation that supports Indigenous peoples worldwide.

The legendary Scientist has put his laboratory to good use on his remixes of the AUTORHYTHM track Doom Variations. His trademark Dub treatment – replete with massive bass lines and lashings of reverb – adds a radically different and markedly organic quality to the music. While AUTORHYTHM’s full album ”Songs for the nervous system” (Thanatosis 2023) can be seen as a sonic exploration of the intersection between technology and the human body, superficially analogous to Kraftwerk's Man-Machine concept, the Scientist takes the music more firmly into the “Man” side of that equation, in contrast to the arguable “Machine” bent of the album as a whole. The increased elasticity of the rhythms tempers the music’s propulsive and linear forward motion, instead putting the focus on the music’s inherent atmospheric and transcendent qualities. The mix of dub and driving rhythms might for some listeners bring to mind the collaborations between former Cansters Holger Czukay and Jaki Liebezeit and Public Image’s bassist Jah Wobble in the early eighties.

AUTORHYTHM is a music/science/art project by Swedish artist Joakim Forsgren. His unique brand of electronica builds on a dynamic mix of driving rhythms and meditative soundscapes. It is at times suggestive of genres like IDM, techno, New Wave or Krautrock, but always unquestionably an entity of its own. Conceptually the music deals with the inner workings of the human body and how it is affected by frequencies of light and sound. That said, there is an openness and ambiguity to the music that opens it to both micro and macro perspectives, the songs lend themselves equally as well to interplanetary space travel as neurons firing electrical signals along our neural pathways.
