Sid Talukdar, a Canadian electroacoustic composer and sound artist living in Berlin. He is also the host of Sleep Hygiene, a monthly show on Etikett Radio which presents a collage of music, field recordings, found sounds, spoken word, guided meditation, and anything else to help calm the mind. His mix for Mutant Radio is a reflection and antidote for these troubling times. Headphones recommended.

Short attention span is ACAPTCHA, a sound artist, DJ, and Brazilian programmer, she is A-MIG co-founder and has a residency show at Radio Veneno. In this mix, she presents her latest attention spans.

DJ Shi Shi is a Portland based DJ and teacher. She is known for her eclectic style, and her love of Prince and Janet Jackson. She meshes  house, dance music, and everything in between. Her sets are mood and space-driven, fueled by a packed dance floor. In addition to playing in clubs in Portland and beyond, she co-hosts Everyday Mixtapes with DJ Black Daria on XRAY.FM, and is a co-founder of We Got Next, a skill-sharing platform and educational resource that empowers DJs and artists who are underrepresented in the mainstream, with a special focus on those of have a lived experience of misogyny. Doubling as a teacher, Shi Shi is motivated by the intersection of youth advocacy, storytelling through various mediums, and media. She has taught DJing at YAE! Camp and is also the founder of Young Audio Makers, a workshop and after-school program dedicated to providing professional training to youth interested in broadcast engineering and audio-based storytelling.

"I wanted to create a mix that I could spend quality time on. As a DJ who was so used to getting my practice and creative time in during live sets, I have really enjoyed DJing for myself and my small pod during these past few months. While recording this I took lots of breaks to lay on the floor next to my turntables and really listen to the music. I love doing that so much. Enjoy this mix when you’re missing the club, doing something active, or really anything that requires a little internal energy."

XOXA BLEND 026 - SHI SHI

Paralaxe Editions is based in Barcelona, and Ylia (a.k.a. Susana Hernández) has long been one of the city's most well-regarded musicians. A classically trained pianist who came of age DJing breakbeat raves in Andalucia, she easily maneuvers between disparate scenes and styles; she's as comfortable dropping electro and techno records as she is performing alongside experimental flamenco artist Niño de Elche (she's a member of his touring band).


Following her appearances on labels such as Lapsus and Hivern Discs, Dulce Rendición is Ylia's first full-length effort, a cinematic collection of meditative and richly melodic tracks that largely grew out of her intimate live sets. Weaving together analog synths, field recordings and fragments of her own voice, much of the music was directly inspired by her dreams—and more specifically, the seemingly impossible sights and sounds that populated them. Working to recreate their lingering silhouettes in the light of day, Ylia oscillated between moments of deep introspection and playful fantasy as she settled into the hazy space between sleep and consciousness.
