For this month's episode we present the Politics of Vibration. Writer, journalist and academic Marcus Boon recently published an astonishing book, which has been a huge inspiration for me, The Politics of Vibration: Music as Cosmopolitical Practice. The book investigates the cosmological, social and ethical implications of sound as vibratory praxis and covers a wide range of artists including Pandit Pran Nath, CC Hennix, DJ Screw, Henry Flynt, La Monte Young & Marian Zazeela, Prince, Miles Davis, and a Tribe Called Red among others. For this episode Marcus put together a mix of vibrations discussed in the book, an entrancing world of durational sound. Very special thanks to Marcus for putting this mix together.

Originating from Finland but based in Amsterdam for many years now, Elina Tapio’s experimental style is rooted in her interest in sound studies and philosophy. Inspired by literature and theorists she weaves sonic fictions; contemplative narratives unfolding through spoken word passages and ethereal, folkloric vocals. At the club, expect cinematic, cerebral sets infused by industrial atmospheres, psychedelic rhythms, and juddering bass. She is an active part of online radio, holding regular residency shows at Tbilisi’s Mutant Radio and at Amsterdam’s RRFM.

Growing up between ski resort, paradise and other ambivalent lived realities of South Tyrol, Simon & Bruno Banani manifest creative expressions within interstitial spaces of the regions cultural landscape. 

While Simon is expanding the cracks in the regional scene with his work on the nascent „Sottoritmi“ Event Series, Bruno Banani keeps an hermitical Appraoch with his work. 

Come and join their “Reigentanz” to celebrate the yearning for freedom of mind and heart. Immerse yourself in cheeky psychedelic strings and the romantic whisper of glacial melodies.
