The latest Phase Group mix comes from Berlin-based artist Nein Rodere. He recently released a debut LP on London’s Horn Of Plenty after self-releasing a string of cassettes. Fresh from a performance at Knotwilg Festival in Belgium, future Nein Rodere performances include Berlin’s Arkaoda in May, whilst a number of appearances are lined up over the next year on a variety of compilations.

For his mix, Nein Rodere has provided a beautiful hour of music taking us through various folk formats, DIY textures, surprise cameos and transportive emotions.

"Dans cet épisode je vous propose un focus sur Amelia Cuni, chanteuse, compositrice et performeuse, formé en Inde, selon la tradition du chant dhrupad et de la danse kathak auprès de maîtres comme R. Fahimuddin Dagar, Bidur Mallik, Pt. Dilip Chandra Vedi. Il s'agit ici plus précisément d'une sélection de ces pièces les plus électroniques une approche tendant plus vers la musique contemporaine que purement traditionnel ou interprété. Je crois que c'est ce qui me touche le plus dans ses œuvres, les longues pièces ou la perdition et la rêverie prennent place au-dessus de tout, alimentée de bourdons, d'ajouts de textures électroniques, de silences et de parfois d'un « presque rien » hypnotisant. Ces œuvres existent à travers de nombreuses collaborations avec notamment Robert Miles, Terry Riley, Al Gromer Khan et surtout Werner Durand ou iels interprètent notamment «18 Microtonal Ragas: Solo 58 » de John Cage."
