Budget Cuts: Records & Tapes is proud to present the debut album from New York, NY based artist A1C3. Psamathe is a celebration of cerebral, interstellar soundscapes. A1C3’s Psamathe is indebted to the waveform transmissions originating from Detroit, Michigan, USA, Earth as well as the literary visions of Issac Asimov, William Gibson, and Liu Cixin.

Set in the year 2049, Psamathe chronicles the travels of an artificially intelligent life-form Yari. Yari’s ship is adrift in the expanding universe after escaping the Sahara Corporation’s subterranean fulfillment satellite. Out of fuel, Yari must crash land on a nearby moon in search of supplies. Yari must learn to survive while navigating unknown and unfamiliar ecosystems. Psamathe awaits.

For April, we're stoked to welcome in the highly talented not even noticed.

They first gave us a taste of their style with their track 'Refractive' which came out on our compilation In the Key of G last year. 

Second, they have constructed a set of six heavyweight tunes for their debut EP Muted Noises, with old skool nods, a range of moody atmospheric tracks, some hard as nails, others more ambient and reflective.

And so, thirdly, they have provided us a mix of the utmost quality. Brimming with beats, 140 bpm jungle and breaks, acidy drizzle, bass heavy cuts including some of the tracks from the EP, and opening with a little something else from them. 

Stick around at the end for some extra fire forthcoming on Gated or out already and there to get stuck into.

Psychic Liberation presents “Friendly CSA Compilations Parts 1 & 2”. A compilation in two parts consisting of artists orbiting the PL canon from around the world in an effort to raise funds for Roots Unbound Friendly CSA.

Roots Unbound (RU) is an abolitionist grassroots organization based in Brooklyn offering nature-based programming centered around food justice, therapeutic horticulture and ecological disinvestment to people in the NYC area with a focus on supporting and uplifting people impacted by the carceral system.

Friendly CSA is a cooperative, agricultural initiative that was mobilized to respond to the food apartheid within New York jails and prisons. Roots Unbound sends care packages of harvested produce that are
chosen by incarcerated folks via a newsletter sent out every month, by growing and collaborating with local New York City land stewards. This CSA is provided at no cost to the recipients, funds raised for this CSA will be used towards packaging, postage, printed materials for newsletters, and a P.O. box.
