This week we welcome S. English to the series. This seasoned Austin-based producer's work has been regularly featured on many of the Galactic Funk podcasts. He commands a catalog of sick releases across labels like Unknown Precept, LIES Records, French label Desired Records, as well as a slew of self-released material and live recordings available on his Bandcamp page that includes collabs with R. Gamble, Beau Wanzer, and others. He also forms part of the well-respected duo Corporate Park among others. To our ears, his distinctive sound takes inspiration from industrial and elements of doom and noise executed according to his vision of electronics. Don't take our word for it though. He's selected an hour of the finest cuts from his treasure chest of rare 1980s industrial cassettes. Lock in!

Galactic Funk Podcast 054 - S. English

Meeting in Berlin in 2014, Julia Lipniewicz (@toxido-mask) & Sarah Kranz (@sarame-official) quickly found a harmonious connection between sound & spirituality. This formed a solid, mutually supportive base that allowed them to build their collaborative & personal practices across the arts, complimented by their studies in sound design & engineering. 

As @solidtraveller, the duo’s collaborative live sets are propelled by the symbiotic flow of their back-to-back recordings - each section representing a certain moment, mood or influence that they take with them into the studio. A respect for contrasts leads their sessions as euphoric pieces melt into grittier sections, morphing the textures of the composition into both rewarding and somewhat challenging moments for the listener. 

For Patterns of Perception 101, the duo have crafted an exclusive live set which embodies their practice of improvisation, manifestation and creation. Both profound and deeply meditative, this remarkable work flows effortlessly through different dimensions, simmering with a slow-burning energy all of its own.

Patterns of Perception 101 - Solid Traveller

From Karl @karlpmeier: This is the complete version of the mix that I did for the Hugo Ball @hugoball312 event/mix series back in 2015. (It returns Kraftwerk to the beginning of the set, as initially it had to be edited out for copyright reasons.) The intention was to create something that traversed all kinds of genres and styles — much in the same way the residents did so expertly at Hugo Ball. You’ll find everything in here from Wire to Big Audio Dynamite to the Pet Shop Boys, and so on.
