“Whether it is traditional or contemporary, we need to be authentic,” says @altinkasetcilik who performs as Anadol.“I don’t claim that I am authentic, but this is what I want to achieve.” A sense of authentic exploration, introspection and celebration coats every inch of Anadol’s latest album. After 2019’s Uzun Havalar, the Turkish artist returns with an album that continues to explore a variety of deeply embedded musical traditions while also hurtling into new terrain. The music and influences – as well as the history, culture and geography behind them – that make up Atila as an artist all coalesce to create something entirely new. The result is something that is simultaneously exploring history and tradition, while harnessing innovative modern sounds and techniques.“If there is any tradition I am somehow connected to, or influenced by, then it’s multi-genres,” she says. “Such as Turkish Pop and Arabesk music from this country where I grew up.There is a connection to Folk and also French pop or Flamenco, Middle Eastern melodies and orchestration, Greek adaptations, Kenny G. solos, American guitars.” (Pingipung). We are very excited to present to you this elegantly curated mix of Zouk and other eclectic grooves from the French Island by Sharlie, a multi-disciplinary creative from Paris and Cologne. She has been a vinyl collector for many years, after she was first introduced to Zouk by her father. She then quickly became passionate about world music as well as a wide range of electronic subgenres. Sharlie is a member of the Dublab DE team and presents a monthly show there, as well as a second even more eclectic show with DJ-sets, interviews and live shows under the pseudonym "Menesynt".

Blessed is the feeling here when listening to this celestial and mysterious beauty of a mix by @Pingipung's very own Heiko Gogolin (@heiko-h-gogolin). With an almost shamanic vision he weaves a web of rhythm and melody for many returning listening sessions. The working title fits the vibe so well that we had to keep it.  Steadily growing onme it has been great company for many late night work sessions in the bin HQ and I must really say it best fits the dark and calmer hours of the day - filling these with contemplative energy.

“I was 2190 km away from where the smoke came up, but fortunately
everything went well and she put out the fire in time. Last night I brought
my stuff to the laundry for the first time again.

When I think about it, it became a rather dark story of temporary
soundtracks about being lost alone on an infinitely long street hoping for
the repairman to come and fix everything. It took me a while to bring all
this together and make a sense out of it, especially because of the chicken
sounds. Sometimes it is not that easy to catch the feeling of a certain
time while living in it. It seems like the waves of moments have increased
their frequency lately and somehow things that were just recently fixed
burned down again. The guy from my street told me that he would sell me a
washing machine that does not burn down my apartment. So that at least is
some kind of progress.“
