Vivod label boss Ali Renault serves up this rather moody ep in memory of his late friend, Pete Mangalore of Human Shield fame. The five tracker kicks off with Northdown Acid, a brooding sprawl with elements of Italo and acid combined to beautiful effect. The amusingly titled Imminent Salad follows with its jacking strut groove, laden with lush pads. Peter Summoning breaks up the ep with its simple ambient suggestion. On the flip things get going again with slo mo stomper Forbidden Mind before title track Nawce Blizzard closes with it’s electro style hypnosis. Finally we’re left with an infinite cat purring locked groove to send you to sleep. Great ep from start to finish. All copies come with a free Peter plectrum and vivod sticker. One of the most important traits at Quixotical Records is uniqueness, music that stands out. No exception is the latest release "Pilots Lounge" by Nickelson who perfectly fulfills the vision of how it should sound. Two original tracks "Negative Energy" and "Pilots Lounge" with two remixes by the founder of Cowbell Radio - Ed Mahon and head of In Dark We Trust - Berny, make this release an absolute banger for the dark disco dance floor.

Bold and brave attempt, tries to be more than the primary source. Intimidation and projection of self-reliance are the main means of propulsion. Not as exquisite as the original, very mature in a sense of presenting what it is. This is one of those situations, where the so-called copy of an original work, is attempting to step over the bounds and propose, that it's a higher-caliber, more polished piece of art. Distancing is a unique quality of this remix, and it can be a perfect governor, but so as the roots. I believe, both of those things were well balanced and the result is as pleasing as it can be.

Paisley Dark Records are buzzing to annouce the labels fifth release proper,
Norra Linjen, a haunting primetime techno bomb by Machine Soul, aka Robert
Folkesson. This follows previous releases by Dan Wainwraight, From Beyond,
UFO Club and the 10” vinyl EP from Matt Gunn.

Norra Linjen (Northern Lights) is accompanied by two electrifying remixes. The
first being from Man2.0 (Nein Records) who delivers an old school techno vibe
whislt sounding like the future has arrived early.

The second remix, the aptly named “Rave Remake mix), courtesy of When
Disco Goes Wrong’s head honcho Mindbender, sees chilling synth riffs gliding
effortlessly over bubbling 303 acid lines.

'Human Endeavour' is the newest addition to Ransom Note Records’ family of sub-labels. Curated and run by Ransom Note Editor, and one half of DJ duo Kiara Scuro, Rosie Ama Cain, the label will be a space for artists who are exploring the dark, deep and hypnotic corners of the musical spectrum.

For the inaugural release, six artists have come together for Trains Of Thought: a Various Artists EP that gives a window into some of the sounds, styles and names that you’ll be hearing on the label in the future.

On Beats In Space and Lurid Music producer Anatolian Weapons' track, ‘The Moon And The Sun’, he takes cues from EBM, Kraut and Industrial, matching ominous chugging bass with an intoxicating synth lead and incessant percussion. 

Human Endeavour, a name inspired by a mathematics talk penned by Rosie’s late father, which drew its own inspiration from quotes by Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking, works on the belief that as long as there's life there will be creative endeavour, and that no matter what you create, the action of bringing something into the world is an achievement in itself.

This idea is echoed in the music policy. Though it will swirl around sounds like minimal wave, acid, chugging rhythms, UK techno, EBM and post-punk, the output will primarily be driven by mood and feeling rather than genre tags.

PREMIERE: Anatolian Weapons - The Moon And The Sun [Human Endeavour]

Dora was beautiful, her hair was long and elegant as she walked calmly towards the field of flowers. A few hours ago she had been flying in the sky, the deep radiant blue had seemed as if it might swallow the plane. However, now she was here, back on earth with her feet firmly rooted to the ground.

The clouds had rolled in, perhaps a reflection of her sombre mood. She stood all alone, a little lost amidst the radiant mirage of colours and pearly flowers which dazzled and disrupted the otherwise grey, beige background.

Perhaps she was one of them too, a bright flower amidst a hazy world.

Zillas on Acid are set to release a new EP on Jennifer Cardini and partner Noura Labbani’s record label Dischi Autumno. This one also features some killer remixes with the highlight coming in the form of a cinematic kraut inspired affair from Lo Kindre who does a spectacular job of reworking the original.
