Qwake – Mistaken Identity EP [Bass Militia Records]

They say no one truly knows who Qwake is, and that’s exactly how he likes it. Masked and mysterious, this long-standing Bass Militia soldier has been wreaking havoc on the frontlines for over five years, evolving his arsenal from razor-edged neurofunk to devastating neuro breaks. His latest strike, Mistaken Identity, blurs the lines between both worlds with a tactical assault of groove-heavy breakbeats, snarling bass mutations, and mechanical precision. One thing’s for sure: behind the mask lies a mind engineered for chaos.

But Qwake’s not storming this battlefield alone.

On remix duty, we’ve deployed an all-star squadron of sonic destroyers ready to twist Mistaken Identity into new forms of weaponised bass.

CLAYBROOK, the Bassline powerhouse turned Dubstep warlord, steps up with a Dubstep-into-4x4 remix that hits harder than an orbital strike. Expect skull-rattling subs, militant drums, and that signature Claybrook swagger, a perfect fusion of low-end pressure and high-octane energy.

Next up, KIZZA. Even if we wanted to, we couldn’t get rid of him, and we wouldn’t dare. A veteran of Bass Militia’s 4x4 mutant division, KIZZA switches up his arsenal with an absolutely mental Halftime remix. Unpredictable, crushing, and built to cause carnage on the dancefloor, this one proves KIZZA’s tactical versatility and next-level production craft.

Then we call in a new recruit with serious firepower, TRANSFORMA. A sonic architect known for pushing the limits of neurofunk and tech-driven DnB, Transforma’s remix is pure precision warfare. Merging metallic aggression, cinematic soundscapes, and masterful sound design, he reshapes Mistaken Identity into a high-velocity DnB onslaught. This is transformation through sound, and it’s as lethal as it gets.

Finally, entering the fray from the industrial depths of Sheffield, VISCERAL brings an entirely new energy to the militia ranks. Forged in the factories and shadows of the underground, his remix tears through convention with raw, industrial hardcore fury. Unapologetically abrasive, full of grit and intent, Visceral’s sound is unmistakable, a brutal mechanical force built to crush anything in its path.

This isn’t just an EP.
This is a full-scale identity crisis on the battlefield of bass.
And once again, Qwake proves that behind the mask, the mission continues.
