PVC-resident V:SONNTAG is an excellent match for our Connwax Selected series: Almost every day she spends time on researching newer and older music, her biggest joy being just listening and diving into moods. She’s particularly fascinated by the versatility of atmospheres and emotions techno can express. On one hand, she loves „fast, playful, sexy and groovy techno, that might at times contain acid or psy elements“, making the audience sweat and have a blast. On the other hand she likes techno on the darker side, which she can lose herself in. While preparing for this podcast V:SONNTAG envisioned a particular setting, that she’s been missing dearly during the past 1 1/2 years: „During my preparations I had Trakt 1 at Institut für Zukunft in mind and felt like recreating its vibe by playing a hypnotic, forceful mix on the faster range of techno“. The ‘Warehouse Sessions’ return to ELECTRONIC EXPLORATIONS once again this December after the monumental success of the first batch of 5 mixes in 2012. Truss, AnD, Stormfield & myself, Kangding Ray (EE mix of 2012) and DJ Skirt kicked off the series to mass appeal, so this will now be a once year event, running for 5 consecutive days. To kick us off – 006, EE welcomes an artist I’ve been a friend of for the entire time I’ve been doing EE, Sigha, an artist I’ve actually been trying to get on the show for just as long !

For her live performance, machìna will employ her ever-growing collection of modular synthesizers, drum samplers and analog gear. On stage, she’ll appear fragile; this small human form controlling a sprawling installation of interconnected machines will only accentuate this sentiment. Benjamin Mull was seduced by the dark sounds of techno since an early age. Infuenced and surrounded by the nineties techno hero's such as his older brother Joel Mull and Cari Lekebusch there was no doubt he was going to follow the same path, creating his own sound. His sets reminds of a stripped-down dance foor minimalism combined with a hypnotic deep and a heavy groove that directed much of techno’s path throughout the late nineties. With upcoming releases on Krill Music and Parabel, Benjamin is for sure one of Sweden's latest talents to look out for.
