[Build intensity with organ pad, add backing whisper]

The moon is a stranger, hiding from view,
I reached for its silver, it slipped like the truth.
What looked so near now drifts away,
a promise I can’t hold, a dream I can’t stay.

[Big layered chorus, delay on vocals, guitar swells]

[Verse 2]
Faces are flickering, like ghosts in the trees,
the wind is confessing in secret degrees.
I thought I had found it, the end of the maze,
but echoes are laughing — they cover my gaze.

[Beat slightly heavier, guitars with tremolo/delay]

The road was certain, then it broke in two,
the voice was tender, but it wasn’t you.

[Short drop before chorus, vocal echo]
