Red Axes make a triumphant return to Phantasy with a further trio of expertly-crafted leftfield club tracks. Having produced several of the label’s best-loved club moments such as ‘Sipoor’ and ‘Sound Test’, the Israeli duo easily surpass their charismatic reputation across ‘Some Lights’.

‘Some Lights’ stomps forward to reveal the footprints of a rave giant, yet, even Red Axes at their most anthemic unfold the unexpected. Bleary-eyed chords stretch wistfully into the far-distance, as a male voice compounds the mood; “Sunrise”. Suddenly, the Axes pull the rug and reveal the howling club wolf hidden behind the sheep’s dress code, plunging dancers into a heavy trip of vintage rave chords and EBM-drum play.

The more psychedelically inclined will meanwhile find plenty to embrace in the wide, kaleidoscopic canyons of ‘Skulls’, a deeper-still groove machine that conjures up images of untamed sonic plains, Morricone-esque chords unexpectedly synthesised with psychobilin. Finally, ‘Professor Grasstov’ finds the duo loosening up into more playful form still, dragging the good name of this notable academic on a loose, breaks'y trip full of baggy energy (and complete with audible liquid experiments).

House lynchpin Rocco Rodamaal debuts on REK’D with ‘The NYC Chronicle’ EP, a two-tracker paying homage to two of New York’s most iconic clubs, The Loft and The Tunnel, landing 12th December 2025. Active as a producer and DJ for three decades, Rodamaal belongs to a circle of innovators who continue to shape the scene through releases on COD3-QR, Defected, Freerange, his own Memories label, and now Radio Slave’s Rekids oﬀshoot, REK’D.

With ‘The NYC Chronicle’, the French artist delivers two opposites in minimalism: the heads-down, early-hours loopiness of ‘The Loft' and the bright, uplifting arps that bring daylight to the former arches of ‘The Tunnel’.

“These two tracks were born from a deep emotional connection to two legendary venues in New York—places I never had the chance to experience firsthand, yet whose spirit has long resonated with me. Through the countless artists who performed there and the timeless music that echoed within their walls, I imagined the atmosphere, the energy, the soul of those spaces. This project is more than just music; it’s a tribute. A tribute to the legacy of these cultural landmarks, to the artists who shaped them, and to the inspiration they continue to oﬀer. Each version reflects my personal interpretation of that legacy—blending my own sonic language with the echoes of a past I never lived, but deeply feel. Rocco Rodamaal  - The Loft - REK'D

Here is my house version of a classic Bob Marley track. This was unfinished on my hard drive since 2019, so after tons of tweaks, I've finally decided to put a line under it and publish it, so I can move on :) The main chorus is all that is sampled from the original, and I used mainly the Korg M1 sounds for the synths / pianos etc. The guitar pluck has a balearic feel. Enjoy!
