Welcome Home! After 2 years of Pandemic we finally made it back to our home base at Borderland. Thanks to Ken Kuusk and the Muumimaa Stage team for inviting me to play the late Saturday set after the burn. This is the best place I know on earth. Inspired by the warm bassy soundsystem and the moomin-house itself, i decided to explore the trippy side of the house with a mix of swingy afro-house and tracks from old-school  heros like Delano Smith (who is currently fundraising for cancer treatment, link here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/delano-smith-rare-cancer-treatment-fundraiser )  Also revisiting Claptone’s 2012 release “Cream”, and mixing it with some new tracks from Giegling’s Map.ache. A few blast from the pasts with a deep Timo Maas remix of Moby’s Porcelain, and a recent tasteful remake of R.E.M’s Losing my religion. Last part of the set I got company behind the decks as my old b2b friend Bjornson came by for some action (AKA “Fathers with different lawyers”)… Also thanks Alex Esser for swinging by and putting on that epic Booka shade track… The last track - “2000 Freaks Come out” - was a tribute to Borderland, and especially Muumimaa, and it felt like the roof almost came back off the house… 😉 I had the most amazing time behind the decks seeing such vibrant energy on the dancefloor… thank you all for gifting such a vibrant dancefloor, and big thanks for the moomin-crew for gifting borderlands best sound and friendliest artist-hosting with a constant flow of good vibes and lovely drinks!

I was more than happy and honored when I got the sunrise slot at Muumimmaa on Saturday morning. 
Unfortunately, the recorder died 10 min before my set was done :(
I arrived at the stage 8 min before my gig should be started and since I had challenged myself all night I had been late and had to run from my camp to the stage. I was so warm I had to strip naked first and then I got cold so I had to put back all my clothes. I had only planned the first track the rest just followed. During the set I saw so many of my favorite people in the crowd that I started to cry a few times. This might not be my best set but it was definitely one of the most fun ones. Thank you Muumimmaa for having me and building the best dancefloor, thank you The Borderland for making me feel so safe, and thank you @minitanz for always having my back and that you brought the Silly Sanctuary sign!

What an incredible pleasure it was to play for you at this first night of the week - I could not have wished for a more fun Muumimaa Kick Off <3 This was the first time I dared to 'wing it', coming to the booth with only the intro being set in my mind. Anything after that was what came to me in the moment, and thanks to all of you beautiful dancers I didn't even get stressed about it at any point! Except for when I realized that the recording hadn't been started, so this is a re-recording I did at home, based on the history that was luckily saved on my USB :) 

Thank you for all the love I felt during this set and also during the rest of this incredible week. I loved welcoming you at our home, and I'm already excited for next year!

Muumimaa on Wednesday night 01:45-03:30.   

Very thankful to the Muumimaa crew to be invited back to @muumimaa to play on the Wednesday night this year's Borderland! 

The inspiration for the set came from the 3 months long sailing-trip from Turkey to Sweden that I just completed. Most of the song selection was done during sailing at night when all I had to keep me awake was the fullmoon and my music collection, and so I prepared a wonky full energy set for the rowdy and sweaty crowd that I was so much longing to meet after life at sea… There's few remixes of old familiar tracks in there (Beatles, Laruie Andersson, The Beloved) and overall a lot of vocals this time around. Perhaps it was that human closeness that I was longing for out there surrounded by the un-inhabitable ocean…

All in all it’s a high-energy set starting off with some attitude “Til my baby gets back” from Fulltone onwards into a few afro-house tracks including a remix of Uncle Waffles “Tanzania”, and then into a crescendo of some hypnotic techno tracks mixed with some more bouncy house tracks to keep the sweaty vibes going… Ending with a song from my childhood heroes - the KLF - who I actually think was burning a wooden man (and a million quid) way before burning man was a thing (check out what they did with “rites of MU”)… all onboard all onboard onboard! toot toot! hope you enjoyed! :-)

Farn // Muumimaa Stage - Borderland 2019

Back where we started.
A year ago at Muumimaa at Borderland @mallecph and I played together for the first time.
We were back this year, and had a blast of a week with three b2b sessions, in which we played both slow and fast.

One of the recordings (Deep Dive) was corrupted (shame, that was a fun one!), one (Silly Sanctuary) will come up on Malle's profile, and here's the third. It's the recording of our set from Muumimaa, Saturday night (into Sunday) 3-5 am, most likely the fastest and hardest set we played this week (and for me, in a long time!). That, and the confirmation of this magic b2b combo, was really good fun :)

Thanks to everyone who made this Borderland so special, to the sound camp crews for inviting us and putting so much love into this, and to you for listening to this.
