Muzik Box is back with another HOTTT release, this time from Futurewife & Brace (USA). This dynamic duo brings a no-nonsense super fresh house music number in ‘I Work’ to Muzik Box.

Futurewife, a staple and long time player in the Seattle & US Pacific Northwest Disco & House scene, has been running PYT Records with his pal Le Youth since 2009 and has released tracks on labels such as Immersed Audio (UK), & Mortar & Pestle (UK/BE).

‘I Work’ is a stripped down, heavily percussive house track where Futurewife’s partner in crime Brace is giving us a spoken word story about the sometimes perils of club life. Brace’s oh-so-familiar story gets spat out over a jackin’ & driving beat, all backed up by a super hooky funky bass line.

On remix duties we have Tonally, (also from Seattle, USA). Tonally picks up the pace & energy a notch from the original while adding quirky organ stabs & chopped up vocals. This remix is definitely the party cut of the package.

Polymath (out of Inverness, Scotland) gives ’I Work’ the proper stripped down, big room - 3am rework with a deep throbbing kick that spells T-E-C-H-N-O. A brilliant & super efficient take on the original.

As a special treat we also include a ‘Workapella’ of ‘I Work’ for your sampling pleasure.

Muzik Box keeps bringing the LOVE. This time mr Alex Mallios, head honcho of Munich based label Love Harder, brings two flaming hot club tracks to the party. Mallios is already a distinguished DJ & solo artist with releases and remixes on labels like Nervous Records NYC, Springbok & Tropical Heat. The main inspiration for this EP is a pile of underground disco & early Chicago & NYC house 12"s he found behind a row of cinema chairs at a local flea market.

Love Machine is a straight up classic house number with a vocal sample that drags you right to the middle of the dance floor at Limelight, NYC 1989. A catchy guitar lick adds a refreshing organic disco element to the track. Love Machine is a peak time monster, equally fit at Club Zanzibar in -89 as any quality contemporary club night.

Flud is a slightly more rowdy affair but none the less tasty. An energetic percussion sample layered with an even more driving disco loop and a jacking style chopped vocal turn Flud into irresistible club ammunition. Another peak time delight.

On remix duties we have the enigmatic Bavarian born DJ & producer Soultronic (with releases on Love Harder & FKR-Records to name a few) who steps up the gear a few notches and turns Love Machine into minimal disco dynamite.

The Munich based analog synth maestro Italo Brutalo is already well established in the world of DISCO, and as the name hints, anything ITALO. He has released countless EPs on labels like Nein & Days Of Being Wild and blessed songs by Kris Menace, Justin Faust & Moonbootica with remixes. His raw and angry 21st century Italo Disco style gets jacked up Chicago style on his remix on Flud.

After a long time of DJing and partying together, London based producers PJU and Earl Grey raided their collection of floppy discs full of edgy samples and put them into a dance project. 
With a mutual passion for all things early Chicago House and JACK, they draw inspiration from the early days when house music was raw and edgy and their mission is to bring that vibe into the present. 

The trio released the big club monster “Call Me Up” last year on the Exploited Ghetto label to much acclaim, with airplay from BBC Radio 1 Annie Mac among countless club DJs. 
A handful of fun packed studio sessions messing around with a Roland drum machine & an SH-101 bass box resulted in the “Drum Boxx EP”.  
The title track “Drum Boxx”, heavy on the drum machine percussion, is a homage to all great noisy drum machines out there. “Computer Wars” makes you want to jack to Defender, while “Muzik” is about... well music which makes you dance! It’s simple and most cleverly stoopid, like some great music should be. Also included in the package is a remix of “Muzik” by Earl Grey himself. Adding some classy piano chords giving “Muzik” a more soulful approach. A nice release after 3 heavy hitting jacking House Traxxx.

Justin Faust - I C U Dancin' (with remixes by Achilles & One & Earl Grey) (Muzik Box 009)

Justin Faust, straight out of Munich (Disco City) and at the vanguard of Europe’s nu-disco-house-dance scene, delivers a killer club gem in “I C U Dancin’”. The track owes as much to 80’s leftfield Disco as to the modern House sound with its pumping yet catchy bass line (the one where you go “I’m sure I’ve heard this somewhere before”, but you actually haven’t), its driving percussive drums and infectious vocal hook. This track works its way as easily into a Nu Disco set as any current House mix.

Justin Faust has released EPs on labels like Nurvous (NYC) & Discotexas and has been spending time at the top of Beatport’s Nu Disco chart as well as on Annie Mac’s Radio 1 show. 
The original is accompanied by two remixes, the first by fellow Munich resident Jonas Gorke of Achilles & One from the prolific Love Harder label. A&O gives the original a classy & very alert 90’s House makeover without sounding the least nostalgic. This is pure fresh modern club material and has already received great feedback from clubland.

Remix number two is from the mighty Earl Grey. The London based producer has just released a co-lab EP with PJU on Muzik Box and has also delivered EPs on labels like La Belle & Hakt. Here he goes all wonderfully rough on the original. This is a dirty acid chugger of the finest order and a great addition to the EP.

Muzik Box’s tenth release brings us pure heat courtesy of LA based outfit Futurewife. “Get Your Nails On” featuring Seattle based vocalist Brace Evans is the combo’s second outing on the Muzik Box label following up from their previous smash “I Work”. “Get Your Nails On” is a jacking house track which oozes club sophistication envisioning voguing divas and acid washed denim wearing club casualties. This cut is a nod to the classic 90’s House sound as well as a nod straight towards the future. On remix duties we have Karl Kling who delivers a modern day Hi-NRG tinged electronic disco smash, all charged with arpeggiated bass lines and vocoder vox. Kling’s past sins include a co-op with Grammy award winning act RAC as well a self-titled album. Lisbon, Portugal based Xinobi has taken a break from touring with his new album (out on his own label Discotexas) to give us a deeper & darker take on the original, perfect for alate night extravaganza.
