Djodjo Ikomo was born 12 March 1952, his first hit song "Sema sema" was recorded with orch Tabou National. In 1973 he joined orchestre Veve of Kiamuangana Verckys. In 1975 he formed Bana Moja with his cousin Djama. Leaving Zaire they moved to Kampala, Uganda. The group evolved into Bana Ngenge as they moved to Nairobi around 1976. For details on these bands see my "Congo in Kenya" page on http://muzikifan.com/shika.html. Later in life, on returning to Kinshasa, he sang with Pepe Kalle and also OK Jazz.
