Scott Riley comes full circle and provides a moving and driving recapitulation of all things dance floor in our current podcast this week.  He has been on a personal quest to tie up his personal devotion to the timeless hold of progressive music and the newest school of organic house music. Electronic music when mixed well, can transcend time.  For more than thirty minutes the mix delivers audio with deep and sublime changes through an organic style.  Once the scene is entirely separated from reality, a sweet drift gives way to more bubbling basslines and colorful sounds.  One foot on the gas and another on his paintbrush, Scott drives the mix almost endlessly in a progressive house train of high-q style.  Scott's artful dagger makes an unmistakable point; 120 minutes feels like one.

Scott Riley shows off his penchant for layering music in Episode 118.  More than just a collection of emotional tracks, this week's podcast quite literally sets a stage.  Even a funky track is blended in and out, seamlessly.  The first hour is a melodic house blend with an occasional progressive highlight.  Those hints are fully realized at the hour mark as a progressive stormer takes over the mix.  The energy continues on this plateau with little downtime, but a few melodic coos are well placed and add depth.

Electronic music does good work evolving the listener.  A great DJ is always available to these new waveforms.  At rare points in this evolution, even the stage gets a rework.  As sound and style are presented, the listener's ear has the wonderful job of stitching together music on a soundstage in the mind.  The set is a hallmark of syncopation, alternating between the stereo channels.  It brings about an atmosphere rich with physical behavior to engage the listener on a unique level.  Right from the top it makes tight work of the new organic genre  Good show Scott Riley.

This mix shines a light on both art and artist.  But as entertainment it is larger than the sum of its parts.
