Mark brings a show-reel style mix this week with fresh new releases in many genres.  Positively funky blends at 12 minutes then blends again into ethereal electro and a healthy dose of acid along the way.  It’s always amazing to hear producers working with elements of old an new to create space for your dance ambitions.  But Mark pulls back from the overproduction found in much electronic music today and exposes pure dance expressions around the one-hour mark.  All-in, it is a great way to spend time.

We like all kinds of music for our podcasts.  And we like that music endlessly and without seams.  That specific effort provides a baseline for atmosphere and conveyance of emotion.  Scott Riley comes full circle and provides a moving and driving recapitulation of all things dance floor in our current podcast this week.  He has been on a personal quest to tie up his personal devotion to the timeless hold of progressive music and the newest school of organic house music.  Thoughtful, well-placed energy that puts Cercle sets on notice.

Episode 179 - Scott Riley - Polyphonics

Arbor Recordings proudly presents our first full compilation album, and we're delighted to welcome a plethora of talented artists to the label for this project. 
This album will be the first of an on-going series and we wanted an appropriate album title that not only reflected the theme of the label, but also acted as a metaphorical reference to celebrate and appreciate all the contributing artists that are sharing their talent and their music within this series. 
The Japanese word "Komorebi" seemed to perfectly encapsulate the essence of what we were looking for. Although there is no direct English translation of the word, it essentially means "the sunlight that streams through the trees" and is also deemed more of a feeling than just a word. So not only does it fit the tree-based theme of Arbor Recordings, but is also a homage to all the artists involved with the album, as their music is like the light shining through and illuminating the release. 

So we present to you "The Book of Komorebi: Chapter One" and to open it up, we have "Lullaby", which is a sumptuous offering from Gus F.

Argentinian artist Franco Tejedor takes things into the Progressive realm with "Universal Lovers", a melodic builder of a track with its subtle piano parts and pulsating strings, whilst rising star Orticaan delivers a deeper take on the Progressive sound with "Sun Shadow".

"Dodecahedron" is the first of two tracks on the album from label boss Land Mammal UK and you can feel the energy rising with this one, as the chord progression gets you in the groove before it sucks you in further with its uplifting strings and arps.

Next up is Ian Dillon, who brings his talents to the label with "Serenity", with its deep underlying bass and ghostly breakdown, it's the synth melody that really engages and carries you throughout the journey. 
"Ayahuasca" is brought to you by the co-founder of the label, Giddy (UK).
A tribal infused epic with an incessant display of percussive vibes and an unorthodox drum pattern.This one really sucks you into a state of synaesthesia and psychedelia.

Sean McClellan's signature sound will be instantly recognisable on "Tolerate". A percussive Progressive number with its driving bassline and warped synths.
Sean's music always lights up any set it's featured in and this track is no exception. 

Craig Pailing pulls no punches with his peak time track "F Bomb", which is dripping with the essence and sounds of those early prog days back in the 90's and no doubt this one will destroy many a dance floor! 

Keeping that energy in place is "Ruya" by newcomer Nitetales, with its dark, brooding vibe and a haunting vocal sound during the break, this one's a perfect 3am wake up call in the club. 

The aptly named "Crushing" by Ranj Kaler takes us in a different direction. 
Ranj has been making waves in the scene and this delightful Breaks track is another fine addition to his ever-going repertoire.
The closing track of the album is "Oceana" brought to you by Land Mammal UK and features the sweetly-soft spoken words of Kerri-ann. This hypnotic Breaks track will transport you to the oceanside in a state of deep contemplation. The perfect way to end the album with its inspiring words, evolving atmospheres and achingly emotive sounding synths.

New Beginnings is a special mix for me as it marks a new chapter in my life. Over the past year and a half, everything has changed for me. My relationships, where I live and my career. I needed to make major changes in order to be happy. It's been really challenging and I've had to deal with some unforeseen health issues. I knew it was going to be tough, but I didn't know how tough it was really going to be. I made some mistakes, but overall I made the right decisions. This music helped me through and I'm now settling in to my new life. I've grown a lot. I know more now what I want from my life and I'm working on making that happen.
