One hundred releases is a very special milestone for us. It has taken years to build to this point and we just want to say a massive thank-you to every individual across the globe who has listened to or supported our music.

Community, collaboration, education, growth, persistence and diversity has always been at the forefront of our values over the journey, aiding us on our lifelong mission to uncover, break and showcase some of the finest upcoming and emerging talent Australia has to offer.

We happily present our seventh release on Joyfriend! Hacker & Miethig supplies two driving arrangements for the dancefloor. And since it’s the second time we invited friends to provide an EP for our beloved little label we took it on ourselves to craft the accompanying remixes. Paflo, Illy Noize and Philipp Harms share with us their take on “Lehel” and refine the EP into this well-rounded package.

Starting as a straight groover with a hard hitting bassdrum and driving percussions, “Eisbach” revolves around a masterfully deconstructed synth-line into a rather harmonic twist during the third part of the track, delivering a strong feeling of development and telling quite the story on the dancefloor. As we instantly thought about revisiting the piece upon first audition, Eisbach surely offers itself to find its way into numerous sets.
Paflo’s take on Lehel adds some layers to the original, infusing the piece with funk and a certain sense of urgency. Syncopated drums and a variety of additional synth tracks go hand in hand with a steadier arrangement in general.
Taking things slower but maintaining a certain sense of heaviness, Illy Noize’ interpretation of “Lehel” appears to be a more focused take on the material. It features a simple yet very effective drum arrangement upon which thrones a haunting triangle.
Tense arpeggios dominate Philipp Harms’ version of “Lehel”. The evened out development of all elements provides a welcome change in pace for this EP. A clear and fleshed out drum ensemble with certain woodblock hits taking the front seat supports the general flow of this version before the EP finally moves to the original itself that these remixes are based upon.
Atmospheric bits and pieces form the stage for “Lehel”, the second original on this record. Hacker & Miethig’s preference for deconstructing seemingly simple arrangements comes to the fore again, when the main synth’s steadily pumping pattern changes, or rather breaks, in an unforeseen way. Flanked by a swelling arrangement of pads and the ever pushing drums, the piece comes to a close, where harmonic variation again serves as the big payoff.

Christian Cambas is back and celebrates his return with an original track on one of his favorite labels.

Keeping things totally subliminal with a haunting melody and an apocryphal vocal snippet, we are kept locked in via the pulsating bass and commanding synths that seem to have been programmed in some kind of dismal future.

A remix from label boss T78 was essential to this release, and the original has been completely flipped on its head, with a big surprise halfway through, as only he knows how. Another brother-in-arms from the other side of the pond is up next, and of course we are talking about Durtysoxxx who based his version on the synth progressions and provided the heads-down vibe of the package.

UK duo Drumsauw seal the deal with a spacious mix, letting their rendition breathe effortlessly while keeping the production crystal clear.

Since fusing their creative worlds in 2014, Martin Vice and Michael Banel emerged on the international scene as an exciting and powerful duo, quickly enthralling audiences around the globe. 

Their self-titled collaboration, MVMB, focuses on delivering a slick and intelligent sound taking listeners on a journey with not only their sets but their accumulating releases. The first full-length album in 2016, The sleeper Must Awaken (Iboga Records), effortlessly explores the boundaries between techno and progressive psy-trance to deliver a deep, driving and hypnotic soundscape. Intentionally crafted to take listeners on an interstellar journey connecting them to the almost mythical trance dance sensation, the album was received with acclaim.

Taking the bpm down a notch while turning up the heat, their 2019 second album Phase 01 (IbogaTech) traverses the atmospherics of a melodic techno sound that retains a hint of trance. Their next, eagerly awaited step in the journey will see them arrive in Peak Techno town in 2022, ready to demolish dance floors with melodic mayhem.

Delivering powerful performances responsive to the energetic needs of the dance floor, MVMB is a versatile act available for bookings to present melodic techno, peak time techno or progressive trance sets.
The debut album "The Sleeper Must Awaken" were released on Iboga Records, adding to the labels very impressive stable of artists and quality releases.

In 2016-17 the duo have started producing a techno album and developed a new DJ concept mixing own tracks with their favourite inspirations from the techno scene.
