"The Assignment": the title is meant to have multiple interpretations.
When I was asking around for title ideas, people gave me all sorts of things. To combine them all, I made the title "The Triumphant March of the Ants: Breaching Jungle Security". I thought it was too silly to use as my final title for the piece, but I've received good feedback on that title.

This piece has spent time in development longer than any of my recent pieces. I started composing this on February 2, 2014, around the time when I released "<a href="http://www.musescore.com/tpenguinltg_02/here-i-am>Here I Am</a>", and I have released two compositions ("<a href="http://www.musescore.com/tpenguinltg_02/the-poem">The Poem</a>" and "<a href="http://www.musescore.com/tpenguinltg_02/spaced-out">Spaced Out</a>") between then and now. As with many of my better pieces, this came to me spontaneously: I was on my keyboard just playing intervals of perfect fifths and a melody popped into my head which I immediately wrote down.
Also, "The Poem" may or may not have subconsciously influenced the title.

Having this piece in development influenced "The Poem" and "Spaced Out", since both are based on fifths. "Spaced Out" especially, since I sampled from this piece there. Additionally, "Spaced Out" also influenced "The Assignment", specifically bars 83 to 85.
