Fathom is the third and final movement of the symphony, exploring the profound emotions of loss, grief, and the journey toward understanding and acceptance. The music unfolds as a reflection—one of sorrow, remembrance, and ultimately, peace.

A two-note motif, first introduced by the cello and bassoon, rises and falls like waves of emotion, shaping the movement’s expressive core. As Fathom progresses, echoes of themes from the first two movements reappear, weaving together memories of the past. The introduction of a female chorus—sopranos and altos—adds a deeply human voice to the journey, guiding the listener toward resolution.

In the final moments, the rise-and-fall motif returns one last time—this time heard in reverse, played by the oboe, ascending instead of descending. This transformation signals Jackie’s journey beyond, a musical representation of her ascent into heaven.

Hue is the second movement of the symphony, capturing Jackie’s infectious sense of humor, her boundless energy for new experiences, and the deep love she shared with those closest to her. As the movement unfolds, it gradually shifts in mood, offering a poignant glimpse into her eventual new life in heaven.

Functioning as a bridge between the first and third movements, Hue feels like a fleeting montage—flashes of vibrant memories set to music. It is spirited, full of sudden shifts, abrupt pauses, and bursts of lively sound, evoking excitement and spontaneity. Yet beneath the energy, a unifying motif holds everything together, first introduced by the opening clarinet and woven throughout the piece in various forms.

As Hue progresses, its playful intensity softens. The music gradually settles, shifting in tone until it gently leads the listener toward the final movement—one of reflection.

Dayspring is the opening movement of this three-part symphony, celebrating Jackie’s birth and the early years of her childhood. The music captures the warmth, wonder, and unfolding joy of those formative years.

The movement begins with a striking chord built from Jackie’s date of birth, transformed into musical form. In G major, the foundational note is B—the third scale degree—forming a B minor chord. This chord is then enriched with an 11th extension, adding depth and resonance. The tempo is set at 92 BPM, mirroring the year she was born: March 11, 1992 (3/11/92).
