Advice for the DJs, producers and artists of our community:
- Play the music YOU like and trust your ears. This goes a lot of ways, you gotta read the room, but whether it's a packed floor or an empty club, I've found it's a lot more fun if you're dancing to tunes you enjoy.  
- Share the stage with those who don't have access and/or have been denied access, teach others how to use the fancy expensive gear, help make it easier for newer folks to get into the scene. 
- Retry transitions! Have practice sessions where you clang and clash until you get it right. Make space for yourself to trainwreck.  
- Hone your craft! Especially if you're just starting out, find ways to commit yourself to practicing. I got my start at my local community media center (shoutout Boston Free Radio!) where I started a weekly radio show. It forced me to mix music and think about sound curation for at least an hour a week.

For this October's blood moon Mx. Blaire delivers a lush river of introspection. Through warm ambient tones, natural sonic treats, and tripped out dubby tracks, this set eases us inwards. The moon is in Aries, putting fire in our bellies and hearts, and Mx. Blaire's sonic bliss is the perfect backdrop for some lunar releasing. Write down everything you need to let go of to be your truest self and burn it up!

"I like to float through multiple genres during any given set and find joy moving through different sonic textures while keeping a fluid groove. I let my emotions flow through in sets to open up a conversation with listeners and dancers alike. A humble guide for helping healing bass tones and rejuvenating frequencies pass through speakers... I find myself drawn to the magic that’s released when humans convene together. When it comes to organizing events in Boston, I strive to curate environments where folks can release their inhibitions for true self-expression and encourage celebration of radical love."

A live recording of a set I played at the music & arts, festival Firefly in June 2022. Recorded from woods of southern VT at 3am, I channeled carnal ecstatic energy for a psychedelic break-beat experience. Please enjoy : )

Firefly Festival Set | June 2022 | Melters n Belters

"To me, this mix feels like being in the midst of a psychedelic thunderstorm. At times, it feels like the sky is about to fall and the earth is about to crack open, but it comes and goes in cycles. There are moments that seem to suddenly spit you out into a cerebral fog, and as the clouds break, you're in awe of yourself & your capacity for existence. Sub-bass frequencies roll through like thunder claps, stirring up innate, carnal energy. Syncopated, twisted, ethereal rhythms encourage you to completely lose yourself. I wanted to capture the feeling of moving through moments of intensity and coming out on the other side, feeling relief while still preparing to ride the next wave."

Mx. Blaire is drawn to the magic that’s released when humans convene together. Organizing events in Boston, she strives to curate environments where folks can release their inhibitions for true self-expression and encourage celebration of radical love. She is an organizer and one of the resident DJs of the Queer dance collective, Boudoir.
