The newest installment to my colors mix series. 
With all the mixes I do, I sometimes feel like I hold Rhéa hostage all by herself and she's forced to listen to too many of my live mixing. As a solution, she'd been wanting to invite some close friends over that she could host as I shot an episode and we agreed on a 2000s R&B as the soundtrack to the day. I wanted to tap into some nostalgic songs for us Millennials (a la 106 & Park, Cita's World, MTV Jams etc). S/O to all our friends that pulled up and vibed with us on this episode. Holland’s tech house maestro Rene Amesz has been releasing floor fillers on labels like Toolroom, Suara and Spinnin Deep for years. He starts things off here with a supersonic, bass-heavy take on “Lucky Star” that is naughty and filled with ever more energy.

Great Stuff all-star Mike Vale is an important part of the global dance music circuit for years and always delivers the goods in perfect style, and he does so once again here with his heartfelt take on “Lucky Star” that merges flammable beats with tense low frequencies and cosmic sounds.

Originally from Haarlem in the Netherlands, globetrotting from London to Dubai to Barcelona and now living in Ibiza since 2012, Martijn ten Velden has long established himself as a leading DJ/producer on an international level. His version of “Lucky Star” is wonderfully reminding us of the original’s bliss and melodies. It feels colourful, organic yet extremely fresh. 

Newcomers Chip x Dale are closing out this beautiful collection of remixes and come correct on their booming version of “Lucky Star” with its tight drums, pitched vocals and enormous bassline. Playful and fun all the way!
