Tired of my usual approach to making dance music, I'm embarking on a fresh sonic journey. Imagine sampling tropical jazz records, Brazilian disco, African funk, and YouTube noise—blended with my passion for analog hardware emulation, booty-shaking bass, vintage drum machines, and lo-fi crunch.

The album drops on all streaming platforms on July 15th. I hope you enjoy it.

For those curious about the creative process:
I'm challenging myself to commit to takes, loops, and samples at each pass, similar to printing to tape while composing. This approach prevents me from getting lost in endless mixing and sequencing decisions. It means moving forward decisively, making final choices during the writing phase. This has proven to be the most productive creative method I've used in a long time.

This album is about experimenting, pushing my comfort zone, and crafting a sun-soaked sound that'll make you reach for the sunscreen.

Sometimes, even though you just want to make tropical laserbeam music, you get pulled back to your roots and wake up on a sun-lounger at a pool party. Had a lot of fun making this one. I've been to a lot of outdoor parties lately and DJ'ing a lot of parties with the Lagos Beat Collective. And I felt like making something that I think would slot in there peaktime. I tend to lean into the funkier and filtered disco/soul side of things when I play, so looking forward to playing this one out!!

This song is more than just a track; it’s a piece of my own history wrapped up in sound. I wanted to capture the feeling I had when I first stepped into clubs in London, where everything was raw and pulsing, and the energy was unlike anything else. It’s that sense of being fully alive, where the bass moves through you and you lose yourself in the moment, surrounded by people who are all riding that same wave.

At the same time, I’ve got this deep connection to producers like the Chemical Brothers’ music and their ability to push boundaries and create these massive, hypnotic soundscapes. I wanted to bring that into this song—their way of building tension and release, the euphoria of it all, but with my own twist. Channeling those memories, those moments when it hits just right, and blending them.

It’s personal. Stepping into a different world for a while, where the music takes over, and everything else fades away.

“Punch Drunk” captures that perfect fusion of dembow and house, where the rhythm is both driving and hypnotic. The dembow beat pulls you in with its raw energy, while the house grooves keep everything flowing. I love how they intersect, creating a balance of chaos and control. The horns add a bold, punchy layer, while the chopped flute brings in a playful, unexpected twist. It’s like a wild night where everything blurs together—intense, unpredictable, and impossible to resist. Constantly pushing and pulling, trying to keep you on your toes the whole way through.
