Bio: Rose Kourts (Kourtney) is a DJ and dance floor fixture based in Brooklyn. A selectress specializing in curveball bangers, acid jammers, smooth groovers, funky percussives, and uplifting house, she plays music from the heart with love for the culture and respect for the underground. Kourtney is a resident DJ at Sweet Kicks and In Bloom, two dance parties for the people that she co-founded in NYC. 

About the mix:
This is an all-vinyl mix that explores a lot of dynamic instrumentality, as well as sounds and frequencies, both high and low, that resonate with me in my heartstrings. Throughout the pandemic I found myself digging back into and expanding my record collection; this is music I really love, and that inspires me to explore and release my emotions and energies when listening and mixing. This mix captures how I was feeling when I recorded it - soft, pensive, open, determined, rapturous, and very Black.

For the final Resonate episode of 2022 on @refugeworldwide, I had the honor of sharing the decks with my dear friend @mxpinky.

Mx.Pinky (she/her) is serving you sexy, subby, genre-bending dance music to ignite ravers with the joy they radiate from behind the decks. The German selectress and vinyl collector has graced dancefloors across Berlin’s vibrant nightlife, taking listeners on a journey with each unique mix.

When she’s not immersed in music, mx.pinky moonlights as a community organizer for Berlin Collective Action, a mutual aid fundraiser to redistribute wealth to people most impacted by oppressive structures. Her activism is born of love for her queer and trans siblings.

Playing together felt natural and was so much fun. Please enjoy the 2hr recording of a very memorable session (Dec 15, 2022).
