A showcase of fresh talent from the global electronic scene, Anjunadeep’s Explorations EP series returns for its nineteenth instalment, featuring Sascha Braemer, Mr. Sosa, Sinca, Moon Kyoo, MXV and Kaisland.

Kicking off the compilation is ‘Bad Behaviour’ from Berlin-based DJ and producer Sascha Braemer. Best known for his tracks ‘Caje’ and ‘Raoui’, Braemer’s decade long tenure has seen him released on labels including Get Physical, Kindisch and Stil vor Talent. Pairing Dom Fricot’s vocals with plucked synths, Braemer’s latest marks an exciting Anjunadeep debut.

Next up, Mr. Sosa, a British producer with releases on Last Night On Earth and Misplaced Records to his name, lands on Anjunadeep with ‘Euphoria’, a single showcasing his emotive production style. 

Based in Montreal, Sinca marks her artist debut with ‘Mancora’ - a euphoric track that leads with percussive-laden grooves and bright piano chords. Sinca’s latest affirms her positioning as an up and coming DJ and producer. 

Also marking his first release, South Korean producer Moon Kyoo touches down on Anjunadeep with ‘Between The Suns’. Leading with cascading melodies and pulsing basslines, Moon Kyoo’s latest showcases his detailed productions reminiscent of acts including Lane 8 and Ben Böhmer.

An intricate blend of intertwining synths and delicate chords, UK-based producer MXV delivers the emotive track ‘Only Want you’. MXV’s delicate sound design has seen him release on labels including Eat My Hat Music, Mango Alley and ICONYC.

Rounding off the compilation is Argentinian / US trio Kaisland with ‘Let The Rain Fall Faster’. Blending layered vocals with ‘80s-inspired synths, the trio demonstrate their chemistry as songwriters and producers.

Showcasing the future sound of Anjunadeep, prolific Bristolian DJ Jody Wisternoff and label co-founder and A&R James Grant share their ninth mixed compilation together - ‘Anjunadeep 13 Mixed by Jody Wisternoff & James Grant’.

Anjunadeep, is the renowned UK label responsible for breaking acts like Lane 8, Dusky, Yotto, Ben Böhmer and Eli & Fur.

Ever since the inaugural ‘Anjunadeep 01’ in 2009, the compilation series has been a launchpad for the next generation of electronic artists.

Anjunadeep 13 sets the label’s agenda for 2022 with new and exclusive tracks across two meticulously crafted mixes. There’s label favourites Tinlicker, Lane 8, Ben Böhmer and Cubicolor, alongside rising stars such as Icarus, Bantwanas and São Miguel . This year, Jody and James are pleased to introduce Nicky Elisabeth, Steve Weston and Mona Vale, who all make their label debut on Anjunadeep 13. 

Out now, ‘Pursuit Of Happiness’, a collaboration between Jody, James and British producer MXV - a taste of what is to come from Anjunadeep 13.

He was an almost retired musician but I convinced him to collaborate after being consistently annoying and asking all the time. It was the middle of lockdown and it was a great project for us to pass the days on days of being trapped in our flat. The track holds a special meaning as it captures strong emotions with the lyrics written by Yasin’s girlfriend Bobbie and sang by himself.

Trauma is bringing beauty and simplicity to the foreground. Filled with euphoric and uplifting energy is happy and sad at the same time and i really like that as i tend to think, that pain doesn't necessarily have to be something bad and negative, something to avoid. It can also be a tool transformed into something that resonates.

Premiere: MXV - Complicated (Original Mix) [Droid9]

Francesco Pico's Magnitude Recordings welcomes rising star MXV on board for his label debut release. You might have spotted the London based producer's work already, as he debuted on Gabriel Ananda's Soulful Techno label last year, swiftly followed by great releases on Saturate Audio and Droid9.

The release kicks off with the title track, 'Tropics', an energetic but dreamy piece of progressive house music. It sounds both modern and fresh whilst grabbing back to some classical influences, making it widely appealing for the fans of the genre.

Then it's time for one of Francesco's favorite producers, Brandon Scarbrough, to make his first appearance on Magnitude. He stays close to the main theme of 'Tropics' but gives it a subtle deep and warm touch. Classy rework!

To finish things properly it's time for the second original by MXV, 'Late Change'. A nearly 10 minute long proggy builder. One of those 'close your eyes and live in the the moment' tracks. Proper late night rugged vibes here!

Betoko & Paul Sawyer return to ICONYC with the remix edition of ''I'll Be Here' which also featured heavily as the title song of the first ICONYC TV season. The duo's last outings on the label were received to high acclaim – with big support from the big player's brigade at the time. With their long-awaited return we get a slice of spring vibes with 4 outstanding reworks of their classic anthem. Betoko kicks things off nicely with his interpretation, the melancholic moodiness of his rework shines through as we meander effortlessly through 80's inspired melodies, while the sultry chords and vocal sit wonderfully on top adding an extra layer of depth. 

The first remix comes courtesy of Blaktone, famed for their intricate and refined productions on labels such as Selador, Sincopat and Mango Alley to name a few. The duo delivers a great take on 'I'll be Here'. Their rework creates tension from the word go, as the atmospheric vibe subtly keeps you moving with warm tinkling sounds, a smooth techno edge and some nicely effected sounding pieces. We basically have the formula for a bit of a monumental outing. The sparseness is the key here, as this restrained gem works its magic while it plays away, creating a deep glow, creating an air of sophistication. 

Next up we welcome Berlin based Tony Casanova for his debut on the label. Tony who is known for his polished and driven sound, keeps the ethereal theme of the original alive, as the pulsating bass powers along, before its drum fills and general warmth all combine to do the talking. Like something from yesteryear, yet sounding fresh – Tony's touch up takes the energy levels up a notch, but increases the melancholy with stripped back and lucid elements at the same time, before the luscious pads grace the rework changing the vibe and creating a blanket of warmth that wraps around the effected groove. 

Last but not least we have a remix courtesy of MXV who returns to the label for the second time. The UK based producer delivers a wonderful floating deep mix with infectious chords, intense drums and smooth breakdown. It's all about the groove, silky house vibes and the despondent beats that are working their magic around MXV's wonderfully arranged keys that create an irresistible rhythm while clever chords take the mind on a trip. A truly beautiful cultivated rework. 

The remix edition of Betoko & Paul Sawyer's 'I'll Be Here' manages to deliver a message of sustained musical relevance in emphatic fashion to warm the soul. Not to be missed! 'I'll Be Here' sees a worldwide release on April 27th, 2020 via all well-known digital content providers. Not to be missed!

Following the recent success of his Kaleidoscope release on Nick Warren's The Soundgarden imprint, Paul Hazendonk welcomes Nichols back on his MNL label with the big sounding single titled 'Swarm'.

Immaculately produced, 'Swarm' sounds incredibly fat and will for sure appeal to the global progressive and melodic house massive. One for the peak time moments of the night, or- with a lack of parties going on right now- a proper song when trying to obtain a speeding ticket when driving your car ;-)

On remix duties it's another label favorite as MXV makes his MNL return. Like Nichols, also based in the UK, Max takes the main theme and adds a lovely dosage of dreamy emotion in the mix. A nice counterbalance to Nichols' full force original, rounding up yet another great release on the Dutch long standing label.

Nichols - Swarm (MXV Remix)

Norwegian producer Tomas Dahl aka TD makes his return to Francesco Pico's Magnitude Recordings imprint after having released his beautiful single 'Everything Goes' on the label before.

Where 'Everything Goes' showcased his beautiful voice, his new single 'Kate's Bush' is an instrumental piece. An intense tension builder, meticulously produced with the attention to even the slightest detail as we've come to expect from him. Another quality addition to TD's discography which is getting more and more impressive after having released on labels such as Platipus, MNL, Sound Avenue, Manual Music, Stellar Fountain and more.

Another artist returning to Magnitude Recordings is London based producer MXV. This time on remix duties he reworks TD's track with great result, providing a nice dreamy but very dancefloor friendly contrast.

All in all another outstanding single from Francesco Pico's Magnitude Recordings label which has been gaining a lot of momentum lately.

TD - Kates Bush (MXV Remix)

With the first release 2021 we welcome back MXV with his brand new 'Secrets EP'. On his full ICONYC debut MXV gets us in the mood with the opening title track 'Secrets'. A grooving melodic techno roller, fusing chord stabs with string ensembles and clinical percussion with a beautiful driving lead line. 'Secrets' is a monster of a track, that is perfect for your club inspired evening entertainment and to get you in the mood for a big night out.

Next up MXV drops the aptly names 'Okiniiri'; this driving basslined winner, really hits all the right notes from the off, as he slams it home musically. Adding a few warm tinkling sounds, a squelchy edge and some nicely effected spoken sounding pieces, and we basically have the formula for a bit of a leftfield monster. Like something from yesteryear, yet sounding fresh - this melodic monster will do nicely, thank you very much.

Last but not least, we close out the EP with the stunning 'January' a musical affirmation, unified by a warm kick drum and atmospheric emotion, the track is a concoction of warm, deep bass and grooves, swirling pads, textured layers and stunning effects. Clever sound phrases throughout complete the picture and create a cleverly worked piece of music art to see out this wonderful three-track masterpiece release from MXV.

Having established his credentials thru the regular output of quality productions via various well-known labels has endeared him to a wide array of dance music loving folk. Another essential ICONYC release from the heart, for the dance loving soul. MXV's 'Secrets EP' sees a worldwide release on January 25th, 2021 exclusively via ICONYC. Not to be missed!
