Biography:
Doug Shattler aka RandomDoug was born in Toronto in the early 80’s, at a time when disco was falling out of fashion, a time that saw the rise of pop and new wave.  Soon after, with the advent of digital recording, the use of synthesizers and DJs taking over the music scene, a new genre coming out of Chicago and New York called “House Music” was born.  Other electronic genres such as electro, techno, freestyle and Eurodance featuring non-traditional instruments also began to creep into the nightclubs.   
 
But RandomDoug was a little too young for the night life in the 80s, he was busy with the task of being a kid.  At a very early age his parents knew that Doug had an affinity for music.  He was often scolded for climbing up onto their old record player so he could spin the records with his hands. They decided to enroll Doug into music classes and his teachers soon found out that he had an ear for tone and depth far beyond others at his age.  He was moved into classical piano and quickly excelled.  By the time Doug reached high school his musical tastes had begun to evolve and he switched from classical to rock, funk, hip hop and soul and picked up a bass guitar for the first time, and fell in love.  There was something about the deep driving bassline that moved him, the ability to drop in at any moment during a song and completely change it… RandomDoug eventually strayed from his first love of bass guitar and found a mistress in percussion.  The low drums and high-hats, the crash and slow ride of a cymbal gave him new ideas and breathed into him a new passion for experimenting.  But all along he felt that something was missing…  he wanted more than to just thumb a string or bang a drum…  he wanted more.. 
 
It wasn’t until the early 2000s that RandomDoug first set foot in a downtown Toronto nightclub and saw first hand what he was missing all those years.  He was instantly hooked.  The Music.. The crowd.. The energy..  He said to himself..  “I need to be a part of this” 
 
RandomDoug began to make friends in the industry and soon started to learn the craft of mixing after he got his first set of CDJs and a mixer.  Doug spent his days practicing with his new found tools and his nights out learning from his soon to be peers.  He was strongly influenced by Toronto locals such as El Duran, Paranoid Jack, Julien Loreto, Manzone&Strong, Carlo Lio, The Junkies & Nathan Barato and in the coming years was exposed to visiting artists like Nicole Moudaber, Dubfire, Chus & Ceballos, Danny Tenaglia, Steve Lawler and Nic Fanciulli (just to name a few) who helped shape his love of house, tech-house and techno… 
 
RandomDoug spent a couple years honing his craft and playing random pro bono gigs and house parties until 2007 when he got his first official gig at Acid Lounge (Guvernment Nightclub).  At last he was exposed to the energy of the crowd..  the vibe..  and that was just the beginning..  After Acid Lounge, Doug secured gigs at the Boom Boom Room (Windsor), Lily (TO), Comfort Zone, Purple Room (Kitchener), Footwork (TO), Tabu (London), Ryze (TO) and T2 (Vaughan) 
 
Currently, RandomDoug holds down a residency at Comfort Zone, the mecca of Toronto underground clubs, and has been called one of the more approachable DJs in the local scene.  Doug loves taking the time to talk to club goers and get their reactions to his sets..  He loves the interaction with fans and welcomes the feedback from critics. 
 
From his humble beginnings, to throwing down sets for capacity crowds, RandomDoug has always stayed true to his roots.  His true appreciation of music and his respect for those that came before and inspired him are paramount to what makes Doug one of the best local DJs currently working in Toronto.

Biography:
Alberto Jossue is a master storyteller in his musical compilations. He’s known for the versatility of his sets and his ability to adapt. Pulling from a repertoire across multiple genres, his major influences remain in the deep tech / techno field. Whatever he plays, he’s always looking to achieve a perfect balance between energy and emotion. 

Originally from Lima, Peru, Jossue has been living in Toronto for the past decade. His love for electronic music began at a young age and he decided to pursue this passion as a DJ five years ago. In this short period of time, Jossue has proven to be one of the premier artists coming out of the Toronto music scene. He’s performed at top nightclubs including Footwork, Moskito, RYZE, Coda and The Guvernment. Most importantly, he’s been fortunate to share the DJ booth with some of the most well-known international artists today including James Zabiela, Hernan Cattaneo, Radio Slave, Thomas Schumacher, UNER, and Pig&Dan to name a few. 

An accredited live studio musician with a background in audio engineering, he lacks no talent or knowledge. Currently holding residencies with White Label Promo, RYZE Toronto, Cabal Toronto, and Bound By Sound Toronto, his first, highly anticipated production release is scheduled for Winter 2014. Biography: 
Born in Canada's most multicultural city, the night-life entertainment mecha of Toronto on September 24th, 1992, Peter Naayem -- better known in his hometown simply as "Butrous" -- moved to Damascus, Syria during his childhood and was raised there. Undoubtedly, music and rhythm has always played a significant part in Butrous' life, as he started playing the drums from the young age of six. The beat of the drum eventually translated over to the hypnotic beat of 2 decks & a mixer after a trip to see Luciano in Cannes, France. From that experience, Butrous was hooked, and since that very moment the tracks haven't stopped spinning. As house music scene became his new home, Butrous eventually picked up and found his way to Montreal, Quebec, where he started pursuing DJ'ing seriously. Mentored by a close friend, a fellow DJ already immersed deep in house music culture, Butrous began DJ'ing at small-time events here and there to further establish his reputation. After establishing his new, strong sense of rhythm and sound to his sets, Butrous started to slowly enter the more inventive realm of music production. It is here that Butrous' narrative takes on a beat of its own and begins to produce itself, as Butrous continues his journey through the electric music industry as a newly inspired musician.

Yanick Antonio is a young, Toronto native and Berlin based DJ and Producer. Originally born in Jamaica, his passion and inspiration for music was ever present since his childhood years.

Yanick’s musical career began in Toronto, Canada, and was often found playing club nights in the city's developing underground nightlife. Following his passion for music and seeking greater opportunities, he has since made a transatlantic relocation. Constant travel and curiosity has allowed him to continue to evolve and expand his repertoire to continuously learn in various creative environments.

After completing his first production in 2013, he has since then developed his smooth and bouncy sound to what some would consider bass driven, sexy percussive house. Yanick’s sound is widely known to offer an unmistakable energy that is genuine and contagious as a reflection of his personality, to create an atmosphere on the dancefloor that is irresistibly captivating.

You can find Yanick Antonio playing almost any weekend out in a local Berlin club and/or bar. His international club experience ranges from New York, Toronto, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, to France, Netherlands, Spain and Germany.

Speaking technically, Antonio's sound is versatile and flexible. Depending on the setting, he expresses his musical dexterity by varying from groovy, minimal house, to Chicago/Detroit influenced house to deep tech house.

His passion and relentless determination to ensure memorable nights for his friends and audience keeps his following rising at an exponential pace.

His versatile sound from deep/minimal to techno has made him able to set the tone from opening to closing sets, playing for artists such as Pan-Pot, Julia Gover, Bart Skils, and just last week for german techno veteran Chris Liebing at CODA.

This podcast is a great representation on the type of style he brings to the table for RE:SET; a Thursday night event at CODA that has been curated by himself, Paul Quzz, Steve Marto, and Devv.

Tim Shannon; a name synonymous with dark and hard techno. He started raving when he was 15, dedicated half of his life to this scene that we are all apart of and he never looked back.

Tim’s day job is managing the back end of CODA and throwing art-based parties and DJ’ing a style that is outside of the box. To say that he pursues his passion seriously would be an understatement. This particular mix is a stellar example of modern dark techno, the vibe is sinister and the pacing is demanding. As a DJ, the most important thing for Tim is that the tracks are worth hearing and he believes that he has accomplished that here.

Strange City, an accomplished DJ and promoter & Tele a hip hop emcee, producer and audio engineering graduate from Metalworks have formed a very close musical bond. Their chemistry dates back to high school and has become further solidified over the years while spending countless hours in the studio writing music and experimenting with sound. In late 2015 the two formed a promotion company named People+Culture, which allowed them to collaborate extensively in a professional setting while expressing their passion for music in many different forms. Since joining forces the team has made some incredible strides staging events with international acts Luke Solomon, Roy Davis Jr., Axel Boman and Urulu just to name a few and in 2017 the world saw some of their first record releases being picked up from a list of prominent record labels in their hometown and internationally. 
 
Beyond the studio, Toronto audiences are constantly talking about the energy these two bring to a set which has opened up many doors for them, giving them the opportunity to play alongside renowned acts such as Apollonia, Dennis Ferrer, Mat.Joe & Purple Disco Machine where the duo showed much larger audiences the versatility and depth of their collections. The new year brings many exciting projects already on the go with a number of remixes being released and exciting shows already booked. These 2 artists are in demand, and it’s really nice to see a hometown act making their dreams come true through hard work, talent and a genuine love for what they do.
