It’s no secret that music’s innate abilities to therapize, heal, and inspire are some of its best qualities. In fact, some of my favorite tracks are the ones that managed to find me in the moments when I didn’t even realize I needed them the most.  They were always right there to provide me with the perfect amount of comfort, timely messages, much-needed inspiration, and necessary nudges that encouraged me to keep striving towards living my best life. Revisiting these songs is even more gratifying because I get to reminisce on where I was when I first discovered them and reflect on how much I’ve grown since then.  With that being said, my therapy tends to come from music that has deep, dark, basey undertones with vibrations that hit me deep in my core.

“Remedies” is composed of an eclectic collection of chill tracks that have simply traveled with me through some of the most pivotal moments over the past 5 years. The songs that I chose for this mix have inspired and rejuvenated me in so many ways, lyrically and productionally. You’ll get a taste of R&B, hip-hop, neo-soul, synth-pop, and electronic music. Remedies | Myah Moves

Electronic (and electro-inspired) music has always held a special place in my heart because it always activates a sense of freedom within me.  In my experience, all varieties of electronic music are built around creativity, exploration, testing the boundaries of peaks and limits, and breaking new ground for the sole purpose of healing and fueling every nerve of the body. For me personally, I can’t even count the number of times I would get lost in the most colorful melodies, drum patterns, and sonic climaxes while pounding the New York pavement or dancing the night away at the club. I would always come out of my listening experiences more empowered and electrified than I was before I went in.  

VOLTAGE is a mix filled with many beloved tracks that have empowered me to create endless moments of joy time and time again. I take you through a journey of some my personal favorites, including: some electro-inspired tracks that provided the soundtrack for my earliest days in the city, a few house and dance numbers that gave me my proper introduction to electronic music  (by way of my oldest brother, Ricky - to whom this mix is also dedicated), an AmaPiano moment (because I’m obsessed with the genre’s ability to connect me to the Motherland), some sexy tracks with vibrations that seep deep into your bones,  and lastly, a couple EDM classics that take me back to some of the most euphoric moments of my life. I hope you feel into the liberation of this one as much as I have.
