Born in Bucharest, Romania in a middle-class family, a bit before the country’s communist structure collapsed under the weight of history, chance led her to begin classical music lessons (violin) at the age of 7. Struggling in her 30's KITE left Romania for Switzerland (Basel) to study free improvisation and pursue opportunities that aligned with her interest in inter- and transdisciplinary works.

“Within my present creative work, electroacoustic sound intertwines with spoken word and visual elements to create embodied experiences that facilitate self-reflection, while experimenting with the potential of hybrid forms of expression and formats.
Narratives of identity - identification / self-fragmentation / alienation are themes questioned from social, technological, and deeply personal perspectives.
I believe in the potentiality of sound to act as a vehicle for both individual and social change, using its capacity to facilitate reflection, empathy and compassion through re-contextualizing internal and external phenomena, by crossing boundaries and transcending labels.
Above all, I am a Deep Listener.”

The encounter with Pauline Oliveros' Deep Listening teachings more than 11 years ago has been the foundation for shaping my relationship to sound as I was questioning becoming myself.

MNEMOSYNE #066 - KITE

This month, we are delighted to welcome Vinsen, based in The Hague, to our series. Slowly and steadily, he’s been crafting a musical realm that drifts between heartwarming melodies, textured soundscapes, and subtle grooves. His mixes and DJ sets reflect a deep passion for storytelling, drawing inspiration from fantasy worlds, sci-fi books, and the everyday beauty of life in his city.

This particular mix was recorded mostly at the enchanting Above Below festival in the UK, surrounded by rolling hills, a gentle brook, blooming trees, and birdsong—a setting that felt straight out of a fairytale. Inspired by the magic of the landscape, Vinsen brought that dreamy atmosphere to The Coombe, the festival’s special ambient stage. The final version has been subtly adapted for a more intimate and conscious listening experience at home.

Madiis, today known as Maggia, in Ticino, is the oldest known name of the town, which also gave its name to its river (1225). Although much of its course is still natural, the last few kilometres have been channelled because of the large amount of water it can carry during the rainy season, with the risk of devastating floods. Ironically, the city itself is built on ancient alluvial deposits.

Abo Abo，來自義大利的聲音實驗藝術家、DJ 及音樂製作人，擁有電子音樂學士與聲音設計碩士學位的他，持續鑽研聲音的多重面向，累積多元且深厚的專業經驗。

他的作品融合 fast techno、electroacoustic、trance、tribal 等風格，既具研究導向，又能在舞池中感受不同的能量流動，使他的音樂不受場域限制，從地下音樂場景到劇院與俱樂部等，並受邀參與加拿大、英國、法國、荷蘭、比利時、喬治亞、德國及義大利等國際音樂盛事。

身為 DE RIO 廠牌成員、Sinestesie 共同創辦人，與 SARABAMBA 的音樂製作人，Abo Abo 以創新精神不斷拓展電子音樂的可能性，並自創多聲道空間化系統，將聲音塑造成可觸可感的維度，營造出沉浸式的聲音場域，深邃且不斷變化的聲音歷程。

由 Abo Abo 和 Spekki Webu 在 De Rio 廠牌共同發行的經典EP 《Gem-Diol》 (一種中文為「雙羥基縮醛」的有機化合物起名)， 從該有機化合物的特性汲取靈感，創造出不穩定且相互交錯的聲音，每首曲目都有不斷進化的脈動感與充滿探索性的動態體驗，搭配狂野的 tekno 和迷幻的 psytrance與高速 techno 節奏，並融合 90 年代的紋理聲景，帶來強烈衝擊與沉浸式體驗！
