Song description and explanations:
Katyusha:
Katyusha is a russian patriotic folk song. It's about a Russian woman called Katyusha.
"Standing on a steep riverbank, she sends her song to her beloved, a soldier serving far away."
In Nat King Cole's english version, one line of the song reads: "Purple skies Remind me of Katyusha"
Another line in other translation reads: "Apple trees and pear trees went into blooming,"

The russians named also the "Katyusha Rocket Launcher" after it.
This was the idea for the line in my own lyrics. "these are the strange love greetings sent to us by Katyusha from afar."

The Herald was an officer whose duty it was to proclaim war or peace, carry challenges to battle, and messages between sovereigns etc.

"Roundup your sheeps and wolves back home to the flock"
Get your soldiers back. Those who did not want to go there and also those who fought there.

J'ai toujours chanté depuis tout petit des chansons de toutes sortes d'abord en colonies de vacances, puis à l'école en tant qu'élève, puis dans la chorale de mon lycée et du conservatoire de Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, où j'ai aussi travaillé la clarinette, et, après avoir fait musicologie à la Sorbonne Paris IV, pendant 39 ans en tant que professeur d'éducation musicale dans les écoles élémentaires de la ville de Paris (aujourd'hui à la retraite) avec un répertoire pour enfants, de variété ou de chansons que j'ai écrites pour mes élèves.

I have always sung all kinds of songs since I was a child, first in summer camps, then at school as a student, then in the choir of my high school and at the conservatory of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, where I also worked on the clarinet, and, after studying musicology at the Sorbonne Paris IV, for 39 years as a music education teacher in elementary schools in the city of Paris (now retired) with a repertory of children's songs, variety songs, or songs that I wrote for my students.
