The second track's working title is "Extraterrestrial Lovemaking". I might work on it some more and release it on Spotify etc in the future... The bassline sounds like a synth but it's actually played on a real bass.

Today is a bit different once again. This beat sketch is called "Old Powder" and is a bit more electronic than the music in last couple of days.

When i recorded the guitars on this beat i had images of drug traffickers flying low over the jungle in their cessna to avoid the radar... The plane is loaded to the brim with blow. They are laughing and cracking jokes, telling anecdotes about the cops... adrenaline rushes and sweat running down their cheeks from the midnight heat. Track is called Narcos.

In 2021 i bought a Korg Kronos keyboard because i had seen that Scott Storch (one of my producer idols) uses it. I listened to some demo sounds online and it blew me away, so i got one second hand for a good price. This is the first beat i made entirely with Sounds from the Kronos. It really reminds me of Rick Ross's debut album 'Port of Miami'.

Myco Molassi, also known as Xylem Beats, is a multi-talented artist based in Bern, Switzerland. A skilled producer of boombap beats and a self-taught multiintrumentalist, Myco is known for his hypnotic basslines mixed with eclectic samples and recorded instruments. In addition to his work as a solo artist and DJ, Myco is also a founding member of the instrumental-focussed label Smokin Trees. He's the bass player of the neo soul band 'The Late Knights', that draws inspiration from jamming in a variety of genres, including hip hop, funk, jazz and reggae. Until 2022 he was responsible on the bass and production side of things for the garage-rock band 'The Mimozas' led by songwriter Gazmir Lipoveci.

Myco's passion for music extends beyond his own creative realm. In 2017, he helped create the 'Musikalischer Adventskalender' with his roommates in their livingroom. This project brought together a diverse group of local and international musicians from Iraq to Greece to create and share new music during the holiday season.

In April 2023 he released his debut instrumental the EP 'No Bad Days' with fellow producer and Smokin Trees member Mvny More. 

With a diverse range of interests and a strong commitment to collaboration and community, Myco Molassi is a dynamic artist who continues to not give a fuck.
