>>Who are you and where are you from?
I'm Kotoe, born in Japan, raised in Japan and based in Berlin.

>>When and how did you start your musical journey?
When I was 6, I started taking classes of japanese karaoke singing. With 18, I started a musical theater career for almost ten years and switched to electronic music in 2016. 

>>What do you like particularly about "slow" music?
All the spaces, rhythms and sounds that comes in between the 1 and the 2.

>>What inspired you while creating the set?
The beautiful landscape of Halkidiki in Greece, the Ethnik bar and the lift of the Corona restrictions after so long. 

>>What's your current favorite track or set?
Tribute from Last Waltz.

>>Which beautiful moment do you like to remember in association with electronic music?
The final song that I sung with Danilo Timm, my best friend, in Seebühne from Garbicz 2019. We both ended up in tears. haha.

>>What's your wish for the future nightlife?
That the dancefloor keep embracing a lot of people, being a safe space for who is in need to it.

Summer Sessions @hotel.amor - Organic House/Downtempo

This was a beautiful experience playing with @orlymaya on the intimate Nook Stage at Noisily festival. With several other dancefloors playing higher energy music, we were invited to create a slow to midtempo techno-botanical vibe in the woods with interspersed playful and deep moments. Dreamy and a bit dirty. Musically It was a highlight set for us.

His musical immersion reaches its climax when he arrives in the DEEP Sea. There he discovers the species of sound images that continuously shape his sound: Downtempo. His passion grows through DJ ing and music production as he finds his place at the bottom of the sea. 
The Bioluminescence of his sound creates glowing colors in which you can hear the glimmer of technoid sounds. As playfulness meets the melancholy of the deep, even the funk stays on. It is a wondrous ocean in which Kunterweiß searches for perfection of sound. A place to immerse. Whoever listens carefully, experiences their own Journey!

In this very exceptional times, we deliver you a fabulous mix by Sahra Bass, a talented djane & producer from Berlin. The mix is enframed by some incentive words by Angela Merkel to brighten up your days of lockdown, wherever you might be. <3

Sahra Bass is a Berlin born and based Djane with arabic roots on her paternal side. Having listened to her father playing the Darbuka when she was little (not to say the steering wheel of his car when he was driving), she became fascinated with the power of rhythm from very early on. This, combined with the fact that she has always found herself being mesmerized by the spirit of nature (notably mountains), gave birth to her passion for organic, earthy sound. She has been DJing since 2018 only, but feels like she has finally found a tool to express her enthusiasm for vibrant rhythms and uplifting melodies, while creating a space for a community to find common ground in love and abundance through music. In her mixes, you may find oriental vibes and driving percussion grooves as well as deep bass lines and emotional tunes that carry a sense of melancholy. Sahra Bass’s heartbeat further reverberates in her current downtempo duo project “Bassara”, in which she partners up with artist Reyneke to produce slow deep and melodic, yet danceable compositions. They have released a few tracks so far with labels such as Amselcom and WAYU - and much more is in the works…! <3

It's been quite a year for all of us. Locked away in our homes....unable to see friends or family....  It's hard to get LOST when you can't go anywhere. My inspiration is at an all time low, and as the days start melting into weeks, months, years.... How is it almost March again!? I still haven't processed the last one....

And yet, with how turbulent this last year has been, there have been little flashes of brilliance....flickers of hope, and even new friends made.  One such friend is this cool cat Moro.... a fellow downtempo savant from the Pacific Northwest.  We seem to have connected even moro--so (heheh) in this Pandemic, as we both figured out how to navigate the live stream world with our dj sets... and to keep the live music flames of passion burning when iconic music venues in our states closed down. Who is Moro...no....

Where is MORO? 

If you ask him, he probably won't be able to pinpoint his current location. Instead he'll tell you he's on an endless journey of self-discovery and self-awareness. What he will also tell you is that he feels he is on the right path because of one key behavioral change: self-love. 

Because of the way his brain works, MORO often gets LOST in his thoughts. These wayward wanderings take him to the highest heights of his creativity but also the lowest lows of self-doubt, stress, and Emotional Turbulence. So what does self-love have to do with any of this? Embracing the lows with self-compassion is just as important as celebrating the highs with self-adulation; acknowledging and lovingly accepting the bad helps us appreciate the good.

In this mix, MORO explores the ups and downs and invites you to do the same. Enjoy this rollercoaster ride of groovy sounds packed with all kinds of emotions. Enjoy the mix.
