Dub Police are excited to present the long-awaited debut EP from Ethic.

As a leading member of Dub Police’s new generation of ground breaking artists, Ethic has already torn the dance to shreds at Fabric and demonstrated his serious skills on respected platforms such as GetDarker and Kiss FM. Galvanising his reputation as a key artist to watch in 2014, the ‘What Ya Call Me’ EP represents Ethic’s true talent and broad sonic range.

First revealed by Caspa on his ‘Dubstep Sessions’ album, ‘What Ya Call Me’ is a future-focused sensory attack: Opening with alien moans and dynamic drums, a tribal frenzy ensues as a brutal 4/4 riddim takes over. Mind-blowing use of the vocal as a percussive tool ensures heads are locked throughout. Next up, ‘Temple Run’: One of the exclusives on Dub Police’s recent ‘Past Present Future’ opus, its energy and focus create total four-to-the-floor immersion. Stamping into the darkest districts of the dance, the sharp hooks twist and turn with an emphatic sense of insanity. Those hungry for a more euphoric sensation will resonate with ‘Rise To Glory’. Here Ethic develops Dubstep’s classical dynamics with a vaunting halfstep and evangelistic synths so epic they’re powerful enough to give you a spiritual experience. Finally we hit ‘Embrace’. A stunning ode to the two-step roots, it reveals yet another exciting side to the Woking-based artist. Coated in emotion and breath-taking atmosphere, it’s a reminder of how soulful UK garage can be when conjured by the right specialist.

Key figures in Dub Police’s next-generation talent movement, Thom Clarke and Nick Bartlett have been unavoidable since launching last year. Their debut EP ‘Thanks For Coming’ scored an impressive 25 in the iTunes electronic chart. Picking up support from across the board – B-Traits to Drumsound & Bassline Smith – it showcased their creative ability with raw sonic clout and led to key appearances representing Caspa’s label on Kiss FM, GetDarker and more recently at Dub Police’s very own warehouse event.

Naturally this follow up develops on the justified hype, taking them to an entirely new level with three cuts that sound like nothing else around right now. Get to know:

‘Endlessly Empty’ is a stark construction of crisp, sense-snapping ingredients; each one balanced perfectly in the mix to forge a brutal battle-like precession. Precision synths rattle with anthemic devastation, unique FX twists bubble and shake on the fills while a searing bassline rips and blasts in unity with an army of chants. The results are nothing short of overwhelming.

You may already be acquainted with the monster that is ‘Subbington’. A prize piece on Dub Police’s recent ‘Past, Present, Future’ album (and one of the few album tracks that enjoyed prestigious vinyl treatment), it’s an iced-out adventure into the timeless realms of deep dub heritage, charged by smouldering sub-soaked kicks and bassline that purrs like a titanium tiger. Heavily textured by an array of meditative pads and synth lines, it’s an instant cause for complete dancefloor hypnosis.

For a fittingly dramatic finale we hit the OMG button with ‘Ermahgerd’. What begins as a shimmering, star-gazing half-step suddenly explodes into a firing 4/4 stomp that scratches and scuffs with a raw, aggressive dynamic. Momentum is maintained throughout thanks to a series of strict builds that overlap each other with a powerful sense of insanity. Serious peaktime business; we guarantee panic whenever you drop this.

The wait is almost over: The fourth chapter in Dub Police’s signature mix series ‘MyStyle’ is about to be foretold. And it’s narrated by one of the label’s most prolific, most consistent, most celebrated artists: The Others. 

Like all ‘MyStyle’ episodes, it’s bulging with contributions and exclusive cuts from some of the most talented names in the game. Including, of course, plenty of next level material from The Others himself! Here’s an early head’s up on the fire you can expect… 

We kick off with ‘Voyager’. Already a prize piece in The Others’ sets worldwide, it’s a forefront fusion that defies simple classification. The second those ethereal pads and smouldering 808 beats breathe into the blend, you know it’s something special. Suddenly a monstrous riff switches the game entirely. From haunted to heaviness: ‘Voyager’ is super-charged with a purring metallic hook that smothers the weighty halfstep rhythm. Complete with guttural bass tones and obese drums on the fills, Voyager’s dangerous dynamic will cause meltdown in every dancefloor scenario. 

‘Amazonia VIP’ follows. As with all the best VIPs, it follows massive support on the original, which featured on ‘Dub Police Past Present Future’ late last year. This special variation-in-production version first appeared on Caspa’s ‘Dubstep Sessions 2014’ and has been requested by the biggest names in the game ever since. Adding subtle twists and textures to the already brutal bassline, it embodies everything a VIP should be. The Others’ abilities in the dark art of VIP culture should come as no surprise, though… His ‘Africa VIP’ was a pivotal moment in Caspa & Rusko’s historic ‘Fabriclive 37’ mix, setting the foundation for the firm pact he’s had with Dub Police ever since.
