Aranga was first conceptualized during the lockdown in 2020, a time marked by global uncertainty and introspection. MYDIR's goal was to create a piece that resonated with depth and positivity, offering a sense of hope amidst the challenges. 

The journey to find the right vocalist for the track was extensive, as MYDIR sought someone whose voice would truly complement and elevate the music. After an exhaustive search, I discovered Muvhungu, whose vocal qualities perfectly matched the essence of Aranga. 

This track is a continuation of my signature approach to storytelling through music, where each composition is a reflection of pivotal moments or significant periods in my life. The name 'Aranga' holds personal significance for me. It is not only a place I visited in New Zealand during my travels-a country that left a lasting impact on me-but also a word of profound meaning in Māori, translating to 'resurrection.' 

This dual significance captures both the geographic and spiritual journeys that inspired the track.

Influenced by his travels through New Zealand, Asia, and Australia, as well as his time promoting in Ibiza’s legendary club circuit, he draws inspiration from cross-cultural experiences and industry insight. A pivotal moment came witnessing Luciano’s spellbinding sets at Space Ibiza — a catalyst that ignited MYDIR’s own mission to shape dance floors worldwide.

In the studio, MYDIR channels these influences into highly crafted tracks that resonate across continents. His second EP The Traveller (INNU Records) is a sonic testament to his global perspective. Drawing inspiration from a broad spectrum — from Stevie Wonder to Carl Cox and Black Coffee — his work fuses musicality with powerful dancefloor energy and live instrumentation.

Now based in Manchester, where he honed his craft at the School of Electronic Music, MYDIR continues to make waves.
