I tried to record the full 2-hour DJ-set I played for Augend&Addend in Vienna on the May 21st, 2022. This one was probably one of my most fun, honest and relieving sets I've ever played, but sadly the recording stopped just barely after the first hour. So I made an alternative ending for the Soundcloud-Upload. This event was just so beautifully curated by the A&A team and all the artists involved. Born in Sonora, Mexico, raised in Oakland, California, Sueuga began their career in music producing beats for the reggaetoneras of Neoperreo and vocalist La Favi. They released Grieta, their first solo EP on Terror Negro Records in 2019, which went on to receive acclaim on several platforms. Their signature style combines the grinding edge of sounds from doom metal and noise records with the percussion of traditional rhythms from across Latin America. With recent releases on Argentinian label Hiedrah Club de Baile, and Uruguayan label Salviatek, Sueuga’s tracks are continually on the cutting edge of where the club and experimental sound meets. Sueuga recently released on Soul Feeder their third collaboration with producer and vocalist Lila Tirando A Violeta, two-track sonic experience at the intersection between cyberpunk and Latin tribal mysticism.

BODYLEPSIS is a compilation album in response to austerity, tories and anti-rave bills. It is Rave as-Protest, a visceral expression of disdain for the current political climate, outrage through noise, a poetic communal uproar; a strong artistic recording of our current cultural landscape. It demands a hijack of spaces and ourselves to recentre the people at the heart of hardcore. It's an outline of our ethos: anti-corporation and anti-copshavinglimbs.

This release figures rave as ritual, as a form of protest; losing yourself in the rave is the dissolution of the body as encumbrance, world, and prison that protest aims to produce, a rave is a riot. The rave is inexorably a reaction to material conditions, contemporary politics of space, expression, atomic collision of subversive noise pollution and the sanitised, enforced sonic landscape of the capitalist metropolis, a space figuring the dancefloor as a space, of not an escape from; but confrontation with, suffering, in pursuit of not some abstract catharsis but material change, a soundclash against suffering.

“Sub Rosa” is Dominio’s first compilation album since the beginning of its publishing activity as an independent label at the beginning of this year. It features contributions from a list of both old and new friends of the collective which have performed at some of the different concerts that they have organised over the last two years. “Sub Rosa” is a reflection of Dominio’s strong commitment with their local scene as much as their search for a wider projection through international connections. Ultimately, their goal is to stimulate a dialogue between their particular context and the rest of the world. The presence in this album of a high number of collaborative pieces is, too, a crystallisation of this dialogue. Most of these collaborations were created by correspondence during the 2020 March-August period, and shall provide a sample of the constant appearance, evolution and reshaping of projects around the collective.

The figures displayed in the album cover are the work of the Valencia-based sculptor Claudia Dyboski (IG: @dyboski).
