On Sunday 13th April 2014, Cafe' Del Mar, Malta launched the Sunday Sessions. This is a live recording of the first 2 and a half hours from Mykill's 5 hour set. Felix Da Funk // Born in Ibiza 1983. He´s a House Music Lover in all its styles.

The musical styles you may hear from Felix da Funk on each session are very different and dynamic. His most outstanding virtue is his versatility when he is about to start to play… you can have sets of the trendiest elegant House of the moment to more Groove Sessions, combined with a cutting edge House Tech.

He started his professional career in 2009, as Resident DJ at the mythical El Divino Ibiza [Ibiza, Spain]. 
In 2011 had his higher recognition when awarded as the Best Deejay Newcommer Ibicenco by the prestigious Deejaymags Awards, the national awards for Dance music in Spain. That same year he started to work as Resident Dj at the Vintage parties by Sebastian Gamboa at Pacha Ibiza, Lio Ibiza and Ocean Beach Club Ibiza [Ibiza, Spain].
From 2013 onwards he established seasonal residencies in Jockey Club Salinas, Bora Bora Ibiza with I DO IBIZA, Ocean Beach Club with Ibiza Sensations, Km 5 with Limbo Ibiza [Ibiza, Spain], for the summer. During winter time has been working as Resident DJ at Wahm Lounge and Crystal Club, both in W Doha Hotel, Qatar.

Regularly his sessions are broadcasted on Spanish radios such as Maxima FM, Ibiza Live Radio, Play FM, Ibiza Global Radio, Vicious Radio, Beach Grooves FM.

Mykill as an established dj, broadcaster and music producer is renowned for his dj sets at Malta's leading venues, national events and on the international circuit with his tours abroad in many countries including:  Ibiza, Dubai, Slovakia and Amsterdam. Every year Mykill teams up with a singer to release a hot Summer tune, 2016 - "Waiting in the sun", 2017 - "Save Me", 2018 - "Xemx remix" and this year has teamed up with Malta’s very own Burlesque performer Undine LaVerve to create an unexpected but super fresh and catchy summer single! This seemingly unlikely merging of talent has brought about the creation of “Silicone Soul”. Silicone Soul is a pop disco influenced dance track with contemporary lyrics reflecting on the alienation that social media can create with deep meaningful lyrics and sick tight beat! 

Whilst retaining the brands of both Mykill and Undine, the track is undoubtedly a summer hit to be enjoyed by everyone! But it’s more than a catchy melody and a stylish, sexy video. The song has a message. Taking a closer look at the lyrics, you may realise that the song touches on many problems of living in a globalised, modern society. The obsession with the material, with the projection of a certain image and the non-authentic representation of the self on social media portals. The loneliness and isolation of living your life in a cyber world and letting life pass you by, instead of enjoying yourself in the here and the now. The idea that “if you didn’t post about it, it didn’t happen”. 
The video represents that by showing a party scene with people always on their phones, glued to their screens, even watching the artists through their mobiles… 
The main lyrics in the chorus are “Social Median nation, This is Isolation, Welcome to the cemetery of Expectations.” This reflects the pressure of trying to live up to having as much fun as our cyber selves and other people’s cyber “reality”, which is the Cemetery of Expectations. 

In today’s world social media presence is important but it needn’t be an obsession. That is our point. It’s nice to create memories in the mind, as well as on our social media. It’s nice to share but also experience in the moment. 


Undine Laverve, known as the “Sin-Sational Siren of the Mediterranean” is Malta’s Pioneer International Burlesque performer, Burlesque event organiser, actress, alt model, blogger and now she can add the title of singer to her CV. Undine has been in the arts circles for just a few months shy of 10 years but this is her first recorded song. Undine has added her signature style touches to the video - latex, tightly laced corset and her protest against the censorship of the female body; her dance moves and expressive face! Undine believes in empowering people with her message of self love, body positivity, intellectual emancipation and being in touch with the sensual self.

For the past 20 years Mykill has established himself as one of Malta’s top djs, with residencies at the biggest venues like: Café del Mar, Gianpula, Isle of MTV festival and all major national and international events by Pacha, G7, Malta Tourism Authority, ADE, Sunglasses at Night and Whysoserious.

On an International level his adventures behind the decks have taken him to play world wide events exporting his unique dj sets with Internationally renowned clubbing franchises such as Pacha, Buddha bar, MTV, Amsterdam Dance Event and Ministry of Sound in: Ibiza, Dubai, Caribbean Island of St Martin, Qatar, Austria, Amsterdam, Prague, Czech Republic, London, Italy, Latvia, Slovakia and Cyprus to name a few.

Mykill started his musical stint as a guitarist and front man in a punk band in the 90s, eventually swapping his electric guitar for a pair of turntables and a mixer. Working hard and putting in the years to finally establishing his name as an original Dj, show man and crowd pleaser.  

 

Mykill is a party Dj, when he takes over the Dj stand the dance floor ignites immediately, as he delivers track after track, never taking safe bets, but simply interacting with his crowd no matter what capacity the club holds, like a friend would put tunes you love at your private house party. Having a musical background Mykill loves teaming up with musicians in his set, with carefully rehearsed impromptu solos on top of his mixes accompanied by live musicians. One of his most popular side projects is Mykill & Brass as he performs with live trumpet, saxophone and percussions.
