"Ash Mere" represents sound that transcend from a few years of activity, sound that logically continues and developing the concept of the "Joyhunter".

Saxophone, synths, pre-recorded piano and live loops converge in a one-time existing but continiously evolving sound substance, balancing on the edges of styles, creating a Power Ambient.

Ash Mere is released through my soon-to-be label ЗАРАЗ which will concentrated around Ukrainian experimental music artists.

This album is a conceptual audio-visual work "Kharkiv Songs", created as a result of participation in an art residency in Hanover, Germany.

The audio component of the installation is an sound collage based on recordings of personal piano works in Kharkiv several years before the war (which were never published), while the visual component is a reflection on war and life created during the artist's Ukrainian tour in the summer and autumn of 2022.

The piano recordings serve as a point of memory, as something done but never truly released, echoing with texts and reflections on war and existence. Existence, that filled with many ideas that were never meant to be released due to the unpredictable course of reality.

The detached sound of minimalist compositions and the structure of the work create an ephemeral cyclical tunnel that moves forward and backward, gradually deconstructing the sense of time and perspective, leaving one alone with reflections on the meaning of existence, purpose, and acceptance.

Song was created and recorded at my home, before the show of Make like a tree - a musical traveling project started by Sergey Onischenko from Ukraine.
All songs are recordered in different places of the world inspired by meeting with musicians who play in dissimilar music styles. Each concert is played with new members and can turn Make Like A Tree in a duo or in quite a large improvising ensemble.

It’s an improvised piece for saxophone and echo, where both melodic and percussive  sides of saxophone revealed simultaneously while moving through quasi-triptych structure.

Track will be a part of “ЗЕРНО” compilation by KlikerKlub (Berlin, DE) dedicated to the anniversary of russia-Ukraine war.
