Douglas Greed is known for his melancholic, organic, emo techno tracks. Surrounded by hills and forests, crossed by a river, far from the extravagances of Berlin and mostly inhabited by students, Jena is the artistic home of Douglas Greed’s music. 
His versatile DJ skills cover every mood in a heavy weekend of partying. His musical output covers a broad stylistic range while retaining its own clear fingerprint and often bypassing the conventions of purely functional club music.
Douglas Greed has also been spreading more bass-heavy vibes for many years in his live set-up with Fabian Kuss on vocals (who is also featured on ’Like Feathers’) and Michael Nagler on drums.

Man of many labels Marcel Vogel turns out some of his most impressive material on Intimate Friends, bringing other talents into the fold to share in his vision of soul, funk, disco and house how it should be done. Having released the Human Beings album last year, Vogel invites a stellar cast to come and remix several tracks with predictably fantastic results. NY*AK enlists the honey-coated Rhodes skills of Mark Hand on their version of "Human Being", and it's an absolute joy to listen to. Meanwhile SoulPhiction gets into an equally heart-warming groove when he tackles "Always Isn't Only". A new Optimo Music Disco Plate and the debut release from Feon. When these tracks first came my way I instantly knew they were ripe for a release on the label. Original, idiosyncratic, psychedelic, full of imagination and featuring a couple of dancefloor hits, how could I resist? Also, “The Sun is High” was surely destined to become a sun-blissed summer anthem…..
Feon has a few things he’d like to say about this EP :
“I wrote these tracks in a manic ten-day session, shortly after an unravelling ayahuasca ceremony, which is evidenced in the psychedelic sound of the first track in particular. Upon reflection there is something of a primal quality to “The Sun Is High”, we were all sun worshippers at one point in our ancient history. The vocals are my voice stacked thirty odd times in different harmonies, then put through a space echo, and they're followed by some gratuitous Moog noodling to boot! For use at the beach party.
The flip goes into darker more experimental territory, with “Holland Fly By” taking clear inspiration from an old iMPLOG track, and “Without Sound” getting stranger still, the vocal refrain's mournful, tense landscape interrupted by boisterous drums.
Its a real joy and honour that I can add something to the Optimo sound world as it is one that has given me great pleasure over the years.”
