Here it is - the last month of winter. Only a few weeks left until we can welcome spring at least formally. Only a few weeks left until winter melancholy might fade away or turn into spring melancholy. Berlin’s winter vibes - that’s only one of a few inspirations that gave birth to Schleichcast°36 (read below). It's funny how winter (blues) could be the underlying mood to create this mix, but at the same time, with its gentle groove and all those musical blasts from today and the past, it might also put you in a state where you remember and relive more lighthearted memories from when those banger tracks were playing. In case you are sort of a downtempo nerd plus someone who tends to connect specific tracks or sets to past moments or phases in life. Or picture this scenario: Right now you are not even located in Berlin nor in a comparable climate zone and this set plays in the background while the sun is shining on your belly. Totally different vibe outcome, right?! One way or another, these two things are for sure: Warmer days will come and we think this Schleichcast is an outstanding musical journey. >>Who are you and where are you from?
I'm Sophie and I'm from France, I've been living in Berlin for 5 years now :) To think I was only supposed to stay for 2 months at the beginning...

>>How did you learn to mix?
My roommates, the awesome Total Regal, showed me how it works. I wanted to learn how to mix to send a set to my little sister who was in the hospital and couldn't be contacted or visited for months. I wanted to share my emotions and love to her through music. Later I noticed that I also love to play in public and share beautiful moments, good vibes and music on a dancefloor.

>>What inspired you for the set?
Quite a few things: the word schleichend, or as I understand it & the winter vibes in Berlin. It's also a selection of tracks or contributions from my favourite artists (the voice of the wonderful Lemonella saying powerful words by Terrence McKenna, the soundtrack of my favourite film, tracks from Wide Awake, Brigade,...).

>>What is the moment in your life as an artist that has had the greatest impact on you? 
The moment when I realised that I really wanted to keep on mixing, and learn to become better. It was at Kitkat this summer, for my first "big Gig", b2b with my roommate. The vibe shared on the dance floor and the energy of the people touched me a lot, it was such a fun moment, and I thought: "I really, really want to do this again!" 

>>What are the goals you want to achieve as an artist? 
My dream would be that it continues: to be allowed to play in the places where I have danced for years: in my favourite clubs in Berlin (mensch meier & kater blau are on the top list), in festivals during the summer...and one dream very high one the list, create my own tracks one day.

Between his KELLER label, his work as a producer, and becoming a visual artist, ACUD has managed to come up with the most famous song lyrics of Berlin’s electronic music scene - think “Matjesfilet” or his most recent grocery hopper “Supermarkt”.
The “Jonathan” single deviates a little from those releases, with two undulating Downtempo tracks. Instead of Lasse’s famous vocals you’ll hear soothing melodies and warm synths (“Jonathan”) and rather dark bits of Disco in slowmotion (“Kaltblüter”). What can we say? ACUD is still the king of Deep Space Disco.
