Dirk Desaever - Collected 1984 - 1989 (EXTENDED PLAY)
Side A is a reissue of the highly sought after Disdain EP from 1988 by White House White. While it’s the most straightforward New Beat / EBM section of this Collected, Desaever’s sense of dramaturgy, his sound design, rhythmic patterns and use of film samples create a dark and mysterious ambiance at odds with the smiley atmosphere prevalent in most contemporary New Beat productions with infectious grooves focused on setting bodies in motion. 

On Side B, three previously unreleased tracks in a similar spirit to WHW’s sound with a dark and sleazy atmosphere, elegant arrangements that sound of an almost baroque persuasion, mysterious film samples and dance-inducing rhythmic sections that range from 104 to 108 BPM.

Musique Pour La Danse is thrilled to present its latest “Collected” anthology, the label’s most ambitious release since it released an extensive anthology of music produced by New Beat pioneer Ro Maron back in 2015. 

This time label managers Olivier Ducret (Muriaux, CH) and Ed Isar (Paris, FR) have focused on another essential Belgian producer: Dirk Desaever, the man behind White House White, A Thunder Orchestra and Danton’s Voice. Rare and sought after, his records fetch high prices among collectors. Some of his productions under these aliases have appeared in crucial compilations such The Sound of Belgium series as well as Walhalla’s Underground Wave, along with edits by Mick Wills for Biorythm and Marcel Dettman for Dekmantel. 

What was initially supposed to be a simple reissue affair soon turned into a much wider project, as Desaever shared heaps of amazing unreleased material with the label. It seemed much more interesting to shed light on the dark side of this producer’s body of work, rather than to focus on content already reissued elsewhere. 

After listening to noisy tape rips over and over, Ducret & Isar opted to break this release down in three formats (EP, LP distributed via NEWS and a cassette sold by the label direct), each one with different content. They entrusted sound engineer Lorenzo Targhetta with remastering the music and it’s impressive how much he managed to polish the sound without altering the unmistakable grain of music committed to cassette tape.

Aspecto Humano have the chance to present this time the first LP on their own catalogue. The vinyl is in charge of TEMPLEBEAT, Italian group now extinct which moved between EBM and Industrial. The formation created in 1990, is part of the self-named second generation of EBM groups.

Aspecto Humano has rescue this authentic lost treasure from music genre titled: INTERZONE. Originally published on cassette in 1992 by the label, also Italian, Energeia.

Edition of 300 copies, 140gr black vinyl in white polylined innersleeve, and printed outersleeve.

BAR04 focusses on Venderstrooik, a mysterious duo from the exotic lands of "Alphen aan den Rijn". The EP starts with 'Espionage', a tribalist DIY distorted electronics track while the other original, 'Escargothic' sounds like an eerie halloween on ketamine. 
Two of our dear friends remixed the tracks. Pasiphae made a super dark goth version of ‘Espionage’ and Sacha Mambo returns to the label with a cheerful clubversion of ‘Escargothic’

The ship ground to a halt, its heavy machinery producing a loud creak as it slowed to a complete standstill. Screams echoed through the air and panic spread across the faces of those on board; everyone turned quickly on foot exploring every corner of the vessel to find the root of the problem. In the belly of the ship the glistening metallic engines rumbled, every man would need to work harder and faster than ever before to keep the ship afloat. But looking out to sea another fearful enemy loomed on the horizon, a storm that would take no prisoners...

For his next release Leipzig-based producer and DJ Credit 00 lands on London label Out The Flat with a four tracker that twists and turns through dark hypnotic house, acid and electro. The Rat Life Records boss has become known for his diverse productions, taking inspiration from EBM and acid to ghettotech, new wave and Detroit techno, which have made their way to labels like Bordello A Parigi, Pinkman, New York Haunted and Rat Life's sister label Uncanny Valley.

Exhausted Modern joins the @artificialhorizonrecords family and delivers a caustic mix of brutish and combustible electronix in keeping with the style that has seen his productions supported by the new wave of artists from Europe and beyond that seek to bring the future sounds of Acid, EBM and Techno to the present. From the contorted modulations of Dysphoric Experience to the emotional and melancholic closer ’Seagulls in a Harbour’, Exhausted Modern’s Datura EP twists and turns at every step, each track capable of sending any listener into certain frenzy.
