Joy Orbison’s Flight FM has quickly become one of the most iconic electronic tracks of the past year. A tune that feels underground at its core, yet resonates far beyond. This remix was born out of pure curiosity: what would happen if Flight FM took off at DnB speed? The result is something I’m truly proud of, a powerful DJ tool built to shake the dancefloor, keeping the essence of the original while giving it a new form that hits harder and drives the crowd into madness.

It has led him to receive regular radio support on Radar Radio, BBC 1Xtra, Reprezent Radio, Mode FM & Trickstar with Grime’s top DJ’s Spooky, Slimzee & Riz-La-Teef all giving him spins on a number of occasions. Having played at Outlook Festival 2016 on the Boom Bap Boat Party for Killa P, Irah and more it catapulted him into regular bookings in his hometown of Norwich playing alongside the likes of Frisco, AJ Tracey, Logan Sama and plenty more. With the recently announced ‘Trajections Festival’ to look forward to playing alongside half of the grime scene he’s stacking tracks ready to unload. Killa P hooked him up with this unreleased ‘Nuh Failer’ vocal alongside Badness to create this dance ending track for the debut 1Forty Release.. Compute Riddim.

1 year after the launch of 1Forty with 3 heavyweight events in Leeds making waves around the country, the time has come to engineer our identity and sound further through releasing music under our own Record Label, orientated around the underground genres we represent. “For as long as I can remember, I've had a strong fascination/obsession with Japan – the culture, history, people, technology. Japanese toys, cartoons, and fashion have contributed greatly to my compulsive collecting problem over the years. It's always been a dream to visit, and in 2014, that dream came true.

I knew I wanted to create the 'Tokyo EP' as soon as the flight was booked. It was a personal challenge to myself to create a concept EP with a simple set of rules: Collect as many sounds in Japan as possible, and create Dubstep using those sounds. I wanted to bring as much of Japan back home with me as I could. I bought countless CDs, vinyl records, soundtracks, and anime. I captured 24-bit WAV recordings on trains, in parks, in taxis, restaurants, at live shows. I bought movies. I had hours and hours of audio to listen through when I returned home, and after a month or two of sorting and sampling, there were enough sounds to begin work.

Japan is the most amazing place I've ever visited in my life. I can't wait to go back. This EP is the embodiment of my experience – the places I visited; the things I love. Thank you for listening and I hope you enjoy the 'Tokyo EP' as much as I enjoyed creating it. Big up”
