The year is 2017 a.d.. Hessia is entirely filled with substandard good music. …Entirely Hessia? No! There is a city populated with sturdy, passionate musicians, who won`t stop, pushing back the bad sound. One of the leading figures in that game is the highly serious music label LAZY LUNA RECORDS, which is run by label head OWN.WAY. This guy invited some of his producer friends who either live in Kassel too, or have a strong and special connection to the town, because they played here several times, to take part on this compilation. Out of that, awesome tracks were created which capture the vibe of the city pretty well. They all will burn their name into dancefloors across the country, that`s for sure. We set this off, from Kassel with love!

Cyanide says hello to Summer 2017 with this stunning ep by the German producer Own.Way (Style Rockets, My Little Dog). “My Girl” is a fantastic track of analog and melodic deep house music, perfect for the first open airs of the year. Its catchy melodies, its deep ethereal voices and its epic minor chord bassline will get into your mind and never leave you again. This track is an instant masterpiece!

First on remix duties is the Italian producer Daniele Kama (Wow Recordings, Time Has Changed), who brings us the party with a groovy version of the original track. The second remix is from the UK-based Leão (Cadenza, Society 3.0), who has added a good dose of synths and stabs, obtaining a solid deep house stomper. Finally, Sergio Parrado (Bedrock, Smiley Fingers) strips downs “My Girl”, and delights us with a sexy minimal version that will shake your feet and brains. This is ace!

Almost everyone who has ever been to Berlin should know the Adlershof. A simple district. That’s it. But for Sherwee, a DJ from Berlin, it has a deeper more important meaning - Home. For him it`s a special place. The origin of small and big ideas. It`s his resort, where he feels comfortable. A place to live and relax.

Together with Sebästschen, a DJ and musician from Darmstadt, Adlershof was the inspiration for a music project. During a weekend visit in berlin the track were built in a couple of hours.

Both producers tell about the track, that it was important for them to use classical elements, a bass horn for example. It should be the main element of the song. A very strong kick and a remarkable bass line are supporting it and take the track to the 21st century. The track is a declaration of love to Berlin and especially to Adlershof.

With great support and remixes by OwnWay, Kaldera & Brascon, every kind of techno lover will find what he´s looking for.

When we do new episodes of the Gangstercast we like to do it proper, so for episode 4 we have one of the biggest characters in House music, Phil Weeks, and he's laid down no less than THREE HOURS of bumpin' gangster beats exclusively for the podcast. The mix is a live recording from 'Living Room' in Lugano, Switzerland, and presents the most raw taste of Phil behind the decks - funky, jacking and bumping grooves straight from the Chicago school of House.

When asked what House music means to Phil, his answer is simple: "I gave my life to this music since 1996, that should be enough said."  On the House Gangster movement he adds: "For me, it was a 100% positive move from DJ Sneak to create something to bring back motivation for all of us, the House lovers. It was created at a point when we were all feeling House music was slowing down and I was starting myself to get tired of all this new music called Electro, Minimal, whatever. House Gangsters have nothing to do with violence or gangster bad boys, it's just about fighting for the music we love."

Since 2000 Phil Weeks has released his unique brand of House music on some of the world’s leading underground labels including 2020 Vision, Music For Freaks, Brique Rouge, Magnetic, Detour, Adult Only and his own highly regarded Robsoul Recordings, which is responsible for the majority of his original output.  Robsoul has been responsible for his three critically acclaimed albums - 'Yeah I Like That', 'Love Affair' and 'Raw Instrumental’ - and the label has released music by DJ Sneak, DJ W!LD, Chris Carrier, Joss Moog, JT Donaldson and countless others … all House Gangsters to the core!
