A good friend of ours who founded an amazing organization called Joya Scholars recently approached us to see if we could create a song to promote their campaign. Of course we were happy to contribute. We initially didn't know what vision we had for the song. But we knew that we just wanted to have fun and to do whatever felt right to us along the way. At the end, this song turned out to be one of the most enjoyable projects we've ever worked on. It was such a good exercise for us in letting go of control and letting the art breathe. Hope you guys can sense it too. Enjoy!

We covered this song for an awesome compilation put together by the blog, Cactus-Mouth (http://cactus-mouth.tumblr.com/).  Bands were commissioned to choose and cover songs that were made during the late 50's and early 60's. Check it out!  For a variety of reasons, this song took us forever to make. It was also one of those projects where we tried really hard to stick to our initial plan of making it as (relatively) minimal as possible. That was hard!  We did kind of let go more towards the end of the song though. Gotta have some fun right? Hope you enjoy!

My Parasol - Stitches

Susan and I immediately gravitated towards the original song (currently on Clara C's stellar album "Art in My Heart"), and decided to create our own interpretation of it from the ground up. We intentionally wanted our remixed version to have a chill otherwordly feel. So we took bite sized elements of the original song stems, cut them up, stretched them out, and told them to think only happy thoughts for us. We love the way it came out and hope you all enjoy it too!
