EJA is the solo alias of one half of Duplicity, an Edinburgh based label and podcast series. As Duplicity, EJA emerged onto the local Scottish scene in late 2019, playing at events around Edinburgh and Glasgow and quickly earning a residency spot at Edinburgh's grittiest, no holds barred event series and collective, Powerhouse. 
As Duplicity, EJA has spearheaded the label's overall sound through careful curation of podcast guests & artists for recent various artist releases, which have seen solid success. As the label continues to evolve, 2024 is shaping up to be a busy year with many releases in the pipeline.  

Since the pandemic, EJA has refined his sound and general approach, focusing on deep, hypnotic, groovy and loopy elements, largely inspired by artists such as Rene Wise, Setaoc Mass, DVS1, MARRØN, Kaiser and has been working on his own productions, with a growing arsenal of unreleased works and a few select releases which have been released on Duplicity & PRTLWRX.

Expect to hear a combination of these elements with a multi-layered & high paced mixing approach to take you on an ever-evolving, fully dance floor orientated, high-tempo groove session throughout!

For tonight’s episode of HEX Transmission, we welcome the Berlin based artist Black Lotus. Her formula for Techno is based on an eclectic mixture of mind-trip, groovy sounds with a hint of Acid.

After sharpening her skills with performances at forward-thinking places like MMA Munich, EXIT festival and regular appearances at the now sadly extinct Griessmuehle, KitKat and Gare Porto, she launched her own label ‘Luminal Rec.’ back in November 2019 with collaborations with artists such as Jeff Rushin and more. In the coming months, expect releases on Luminal, Illegal Alien and FLASH Recordings.
