AS I WALK (my first Jazz/Blues song)

Three B Flat Clarinets and a Beast of a Bass! This clarinet quartet was written originally for four bass clarinets but in this form provides a ‘groovy’ addition to the standard clarinet quartet repertoire. It has been enjoyed in quartet performances by players and audiences alike and is a great work-out for the bass clarinetist. Waves is about difficult life moments.  How can we ease the pain? There is a refrain during the course of the song where I repeat this in an almost silent plea.  The song captures the feeling of time moving at a different speed in these moments of sorrow and tenderness when the mind freezes.  A numbness infused with a fierce stillness and a fierce love.

Another bizarro trot around the paddock with the inimitable The Phaige and Dairv W, my astral Neighbours. Gary sent over his backing before Santa loaded up the sleigh and D and I worked independently at first then bounced some ideas around. Gary meanwhile worked his magic with layer upon layer of synth and some really cool bass. D soars and flies magnificently. 
A real pleasure to work with these gents..great talent and always high quality. Modern, proggy music that I hope you enjoy
